i live outside DC and for some reason when you live in or around DC especially on the DC side of the beltway, you get wrapped up in politics hardcore.

fair enough. i guess its not really the same with london cos i live 20 mins away (by train). i guess i don't want to get involved cos i don't really have opinions on stuff. grr...so complex. wish dinosaurs were still rulers of the earth. then life would be less complicated. they rule, no further questions. but then i guess theres the eating people bit..why can't it just be peaceful and happy? put everything in the past and start fresh. sorted.

darn tootin'!

I like to know what's going on in politics, but I don't like to discuss it with people on other message boards (or in general for that matter) for two reasons: just because you're informed doesn't mean the other person is and 90% of the time nothing gets accomplished in a political arguement.

Me... I don't want to have some idiot running and messing up my life and freedom, so I may as well pay SOME kind of attention and put SOME kind of care toward it.

I don't simply because whoever gets voted in never lives up to their promises, none of them care about the average worker,it's all about getting the rich richer.Politicians are not in it to make the country/state/city better, they are in it for self gain. They are good at making promises but NONE of them ever keep them

get me a candidate here in australia worth choosing and I'd be more inclined to take a bit of notice yet I don't see that happening anytime soon.(Incidently today is our (australia) federal election) so we could have a different Prime minister tomorrow (although I doubt it)

I disdain politics, but realize the political process is vital. If the ones who disdain it were all involved, we'd have a better government, and probably a better world. Or something ...

i think it's important for people to know what's going on in the world around them. of course, there will also be some people who get involved more and work to promote candidates/donate to campaings/attend rallies and protests and that sort of thing, but being informed is essential for everyone. your mind is a weapon. use it.

I agree it's important to know whats going on in the world but I wouldn't for one second trust a politician to tell me the truth about world issues.
