ok, i was inspired by this thread by ideal and thought, "if i could choose which songs would make the cut, which ones would i choose?" hmmm... faced with the dilema, i came up with the following:

01. Marvelous Things
02. I Wasn't Prepared
03. Memories
04. Over The Mountains
05. Lost At Sea
06. Golly Sandra
07. Telescope Eyes
08. Sun Feet
09. The Escaping Song
10. One Day I Slowly Floated Away

obviously, there were songs i really wanted to be in there, but had to narrow it down. now, what would YOU choose?

this is a list of the songs that i know exist, but if there are songs that i didn't list and am oblivious as to if they do exist, then by all means, add it to your own list if you'd like. (they're in no particular order):

plenty of paper
just like we do
i wasn't prepared
memories
laughing city
the winter song
golly sandra
tree tops
becoming you
marvelous things
the escaping song
telescope eyes
my lovely
they all surrounded me
over the mountains
lady of the wood
mr. pine
sun feet
lost at sea
silver bugs
dream for me
blackened crown
head against the sky
brightly wound
lullaby
queen of leaves
sea king
trolly wood
wings and windows
vintage people
one day i slowly floated away

the fine print: this is just for fun... in no way am i trying to persuade boyd or the band to put certain songs on the album. this is just what i would choose and what others would choose if we had the power to choose. choose... choose... goose! /stupidity.

awesome! most of the songs i would've chosen are, well, according to your accurate discovery, are going to be on the album.

but if YOU could choose, what would your tracklist be? or did the band fulfill your expectations of delight?

as Mr. Pine is my favorite song, i wish it was in the running.
i think the band has played it at every show for 2+ years.
i think the management and Rob Schnapf weren't crazy about it.
i don't see why.
i actually have the firm believe that a well marketed Mr Pine combined with a great video will be a success at least in the way that Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand have had with Float On and Take Me Out respectively.

as far as the tracklisting, i'm not sure.
i really wanted all new songs with no repeats from and EP's.
but then again, i have not heard the new arrangements/recordings.
i'm looking forward to hearing the finished product.

yea, it'd be interesting if there weren't repeats. Death Cab had repeats from EPs on albums, but some were sligtly different, like an acoustic or a longer version or something. but i guess i wouldn't mind it if there were repeats as long as there's a difference in recording and not just the same exact song from EPs.

I think at one point during the full length recording album, Boydoid mentioned some new acoustic guitar parts in 'Memories' ... which makes me look forward to hearing that on the album, even if it's already on the EPs.

(And Bigideas - may I join your Want Mr. Pine Recorded club? That's one of my favourite Eisley songs, and I also think it'd be a big ol' hit.)

(In no particular order because I'm too picky and meticulous about those; it takes me an hour and a half or more just to get the perfect mix when I'm making myself a mix CD. Rolling Eyes )
Mr. Pine
Lost At Sea
My Lovely
They All Surrounded Me
Telescope Eyes(I think they brought back in lyrics from its original version for the recording ... if not, then I omit 'BiTelescopic Glazing Orbulas' from my dream album.)
Golly Sandra
I Wasn't Prepared
Mem'ruhs
The Escaping Song
Just Like We Do
