I've been a daily visitor to this forum since I saw Eisley open for Coldplay on June 10. From what I can put into words, not only is Boyd Almighty the father of 4/5 of the group Eisley, he is also the supplier of pics and information that powers this very site; the Giver if you will. Without the Giver, this forum would dry up faster than a brook in the Arizona desert. It is his essence that fuels the flow of information for the out of Texas population (especially for me here in Oh-hi-Oh). It is the Giver that gives the forum the personified, metaphorical lifeforce that we have all come to love, and for that I toast to the Giver (raises Pepsi can to the sky as the camera pans down and focus's on the tear slowly making its way down Jeremy's left cheek). Amen to the Giver

*note* I was very bored at the time of this post

Questions are good. I say it's fair game if they're not in the FAQ. You don't know anything unless you ask. You might be surprised how many people want to know what people hear when they ask "stupid questions."

Hey, thanks. I feel humbled; and, of course honored to have this
amazing role, but...

I'm not some great person; thanks for the giver status, but I doubt
if I deserve what I think it implies; I'm just...hmmm, just this regular guy
- a musician/graphics artsyfart who ended up with these wonderfully,
kindred kids that sort-of mirror the culture I grew up in: close
siblings, Beatles, supportive parents, drums/amps guitars, humor,
weirdness, art, creativity, God. I call it: generative continuity. But,
honestly...Kim (soul mate mom) is the ultimate enabler for this
crazycollective. She's the one that deserves the applause.

Perhaps Eisley embodies and displays the vision that was lying dormant
in our midst during those formative years - a genesis created from...
whatever - this unrestrained, organic, creative culture. I'm over thinking
it. sorry.

All I do is distribute information... I take what's happening, what's real,
the essence of the band, anything newsworthy or relevant... and
telegraph it verbally and visually. I maintain consistency with messaging
and imaging, try my best to voice the attitudes, values, likes and dislikes
of the band. I used to think graphic design was the total answer to
marketing. But these days, Designer = thinker. Designers look at the
whole. If I communicate Eisley's vision...their essence...and can find a
visual language that moves in step with the band/their music, their
persona, I'll be doing my job.

I have other jobs/duties with/for the band, but you basically asked if I
was their dad. yes. Wink

Having said all of that...please understand that I certainly don't think that
any of us, especially me, am very important; seriously, none of us are
more important than any of you. We're a small microbe...multiplying in
our own little petri dish...under a microscope - being viewed by a growing
crowd of scientists. There are no guarantees that this band will even be
here in a year - or two years from now. To boast and bloat would be
foolish and futile. Hopefully we're all just hanging out and sharing some
music while we're relating to each other.

These guys in the band are just regular dorks like us. I am the surely the
dorkiest...like us, including you. bd

snagg3r - i don't think the bowing was what boyd was going for there... Rolling Eyes

boyd - when i was out camping a week ago my friend caleb and i and some others were looking for shooting stars and i ssaid i wanted to see some shooting stars because i was getting tiredr and impatient. he told me the only way to see a shooting star was to be perfectly content with the regular stars. as soon as we become content just seeing the stars as they are we can start seeing new and more beautiful stars. so... this has something to do with what you said in that being content with being normal microbes and with being unspecial has allowed for your family (and jonathan) to become very special even if you aren't so able to see it or admit it... eisley has the ability to bless at least one person (me) with their music and i think that is a marvelous thing. so uhmmm the point of this whole post? i don't know. im so used to posting random pointless posts i can't seem to grasp the point of this one which isn't so random or pointless... at least i don't think it is...
