So, I've been dissilusioned. Dilemma #1. Mom doesnt want me driving to Texas in the winter. Would I really be driving through snow storms and the like? Or is it a fairly easy drive? Straight? Easy? Desert-y? Dilemma #2. I wanted this to be a roadtrip with friends. They all think I'm crazy and wont go. I thought I was going to be able to get my sister in law to go with me (she has family in texas) but she'll be up in Washington with my brothers mom. As much as I love yall, I would prefer to go with atleast one person I know. Dilemma #3. Sister has a baby due right around that time. Would I feel guilty if I wasnt there. Would she be angry at me? Would the rest of my family look down on me. Dilemma #4. Am I crazy? Is this an outrageous idea to have? Will I go down in the books as the crazy girl that hopped in her car and drove 1000 miles to go see a show, all within the time restraints of a weekend? Dilemma #5. I feel bad for going after announcing it on here. Boyd made "bold claims because of bold fans", people wanted to come, I put plans into action and may not be able to back them up. Does that make me a bad person... I'll be out in Texas Jan. 27 already, plane tickets were purchased awhile ago. Will there be something going on with the upcoming album release. Should I not bother. Tell me what to do. Tell me your thoughts.... _________________ Life is funny, but not ha ha funny - Eels |

Snow storms? Texas? Sorry. People get too high and mighty about childbirth. If you can't see the kid fresh out of the womb, I wouldn't stick around. Maybe I'm just weird, though ... Not sure ... hmmm _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

You're certainly not crazy. I wanted to go to Boston to see REM. I wanted to go to Toronto to see Eisley. Of course, in both cases I had additional reasons for wanting to go to those places. But I'm sure the same applies to you and wanting to come to Texas. Snow in Texas shouldn't be an issue I would think. But it's certainly not a drive one would want to make alone. Where the heck is Luke? He's crazy enough to make that trip with somebody! Hmmm. Personally, I'm all about taking time to do things a little different from time to time. That would certainly include making a drive to Cali to see a particular band... provided at least one person tagged along. So yeah... you're not crazy. But don't give up hope just yet. Oh... about the baby thing. Hmmm... that's a tough call. I don't think it's a big deal, but that's just me. And the fact that you're coming to Texas in January anyway... again... no big deal. Of course, it IS late and my brain isn't functioning very well. In fact, the text on the screen is getting blurry and I can't tell if I'm coherent. Maybe I'll think better in the morning. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

I'm still trying to go if for nothing else is that I've never done a road trip eastward yet. I've done the northward thing--driving from Los Angeles to Seattle and Vancouver. I've done the southward thing--driving from Los Angeles to parts unknown in Mexico. All that's left is the eastward monster. Eisley is the best excuse I could ask for to make the trek. _________________ mojo shivers xiong ci sha shou ![]()

Ive driven from Tyler to LA and San Fran and back over a dozen times in the past couple years. It is a boring drive in NM and TX. Since its during December I guarantee you'll probably hit snow in Flagstaff, AZ and Gallup, NM, atleast thats where I usually encounter it. If you do make the drive just bring No Doze and Starbuck coupons and drive straight thru. I still brag about my Tyler to Phoenix, AZ in 13 hours trip. |

The drive from LA to Dallas is a long one..... i would suggest flying instead, and scouring the interent for cheap airfares. Check out bestfares.com . "But flying costs a lot!" you might say....well, at current gas prices, driving from LA to Dallas will cost as much as a plane ticket! I'm sure someone around here would let you crash for a night or 2 if you came. |

berlies, as a mom, I would rather see you fly than drive that drive. We'd love to see you at this show, but, there will be others. I know how your mom feels. She just wants to make sure her daughter is safe during a typically unsafe time to travel by car. That's my two cents |

Still doesnt solve the other problems, but I'll talk to mom. I still wouldnt want to travel alone...would anyone else consider flying? _________________ Life is funny, but not ha ha funny - Eels |

I'm afraid I won't be able to make the New Years show either. But I'm trying really hard to make sure I see them this spring. My mom has been on me to find a tour schedule. I told her that not everything was final yet. Why would she be acting like this? It probably has to do with the fact that if the show and my graduation are on the same day, I'd choose to go to the show. As you imagined she didn't take it very well. I know, I told some of my friends today, and they thought I was crazy too. Oh well,...priorities. _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. I'd fly too. I did it this past June for the A-kon to go watch DAI. Dallas is a fun town. Morton's had the best steak I have ever had in my life and the hotel where we stayed at was pretty posh for such a low price. I'm probably going to go back next June for next A-kon, so what's one more trip in December? _________________ mojo shivers xiong ci sha shou ![]()
