ok i admit it. back in september i experienced my first case of starstucking...ness. who would have thought eisley could've done it to me. so i'm posting my experience to see if anyone else out there has shares my grief. it was at the eisley/snow patrol show in boston, ma at the paradise rock club back in september. i showed up something like 3 hours early just to make sure that i might have the chance to meet the band before the show. obviously i was the first person outside the venue that night and i obviously saw the band getting ready. from the point where boyd pulled the moss van up to the curb, to when the band hit the stage i missed at least 6 opportunities to meet them. first one, like i said, was when boyd pulled the van up to the curb... i froze. then he waited by the van until the band came out of the venue (they must have came in the back), i just stared. they walked by me about 3 more times, kept freezing. then i almost walked into weston as he came around a corner (we both said "sorry" it was kinda funny) then i was standing inside the venue hallway and stacy came out of some door and started to talk to weston, who was at the entrance. yeah, i just stood there and stared at the wall as they talked. that was really awkward yeah, so i screwed up. i can't believe i froze at all the chances i had. anyway i finally got to meet the band for a little bit afterward, but was really awkward when i talked to them and probably looked stupid. i'm making it a point to act better at the next show. hopefully i'll get a second chance. so am i the only one who missed out on meeting the band? |

heh. back in september, granpa turtle and i got to the 9:30 club a good 3 hours before doors. we were there before everyone but snow patrol themselves. boyd ended up calling me to get directions to the club and after they got there, we were basically tagging along with them until 1:30 a.m. so, needless to say, our experience was the complete opposite of yours |

why are you guys freezing? no offense to the band but it's Eisley, not like, Radiohead. You talk tothese guys all the time, they're around here frequently. And jeez, they're only the most approachable people ever. And they're adorable, when we met em at 9:30 they introduced themselves as if we didn't already know. i mean yeah it's polite, but i thought it was kind of funny. I also thought it was funny that Stacy said "ah, the infamous granpa turtle" to which Chauntelle added" hey you're that guy with the robot picture on your xanga" lesson is: Eisley, not scary people, go say hi!! _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

After the show at the Gypsy Tea Room in October, I went to the back to meet the band. As I made my through the horde of people, it was Sherri I met first. I wasn't really expecting to be shy or "starstruck", but when I greeted her, all cognitive ability left my brain. I sputtered and dribbled out a few sentences, all of which made less sense the more I spoke. By the end of our "conversation", I'm not even sure if it was english I was speaking. My sentence structure and logical thought process had left the Gypsy Tea Room by the back door the moment I approached the band. Regardless, Sherri was very gracious and smiled and acted as if she understood the foreign language I was speaking. Stacy caught the last half of what I was saying, and she pretended to speak my newfound language too. Very nice of them. After that horrid encounter I was too scared to meet the rest of the band, so I just started listened to Snow Patrol while getting hit up by the under 21 crowd to buy alcohol for them (on which I declined). The End. ~Poops |

i think we're as scared of ya'll as ya'll are of us. But, BN!!! just regular losers, it's ok. I only wish we had more time to yak and hang out. The pressures to make things happen and get it all together and get out and get on to the next gig with a little sleep and some sanity keep us from seeming normal. But, I assure you, we're normal. Even if you're afraid to meet the band, you should say hello to me. I'm just a starving artist who didn't think growing up was an important part of growing up. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Honestly, I have met quite a few bands, but it was really weird with Eisley I felt like I have known them for a while I dunno it was really weird but I didnt feel starstruck at all with them, it was quite cool~I was most starstruck when I was standing next to one of the scissor sisters though, which was a week before eisley, so bad I couldnt move, which is weird cos as much as I like them Eisley is a lot more special to me! Well there is my story! _________________ If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain. -Maya Angelou |

jack. i could bring my 50's Super-RobiticMan Ray gun. It has a setting that say's "melt the frozen ones". i tried it on a frog once, and...BzzzzT! - (only a trail of smoke) but I'm pretty sure because you're a larger mass, it'd work. What else would that setting be for? I'd be shooting BNRocks with it anyway, so... _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Somehow I summoned the guts to walk right up to the band as they were loading out in Lawrence and say hi. They were all super-nice, and I even met Boyd (who told me that until I introduced myself as Saellys, he hadn't known how to pronounce my screenname). I was less bold, however, when we saw them again after the show at a bookstore up the street. I managed to ask Sherri if she'd changed the lyrics to "Telescope Eyes," but I never attained my goal of getting Boyd to autograph my poster. Bloody improbable shyness. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Well, I'm taking every crack I can now to talk to Boyd and the band before they're playing stadiums and taking charter flights right after the show. I got to say though, I was a bit nervous as well. I could barely speak a word to Sherri and Stacy. Luckily Chauntelle is so easy to talk to. We talked through almost the whole Snow Patrol set. Definitely cool. I also got to talk to Weston and Jon a good amount. But Boyd is definitely the most fun to talk to. Even when he is going a million miles a second and injuring himself while packing up the gear. See ya'll next tour! |
