i've never played an xbox before but I tried a Game Cube and it was pretty cool. I was thinking of getting one when my ps1 finally died on me but went with the PS2 cuz i could play my old PS1 games on them, i was familiar with the controller, and it can play dvds too.

I've got a ps2,I havent used the others although one big advantage for me with the ps2 is the controller that fits in your hand as opposed to the controls that are so big you can hardly hold them properly.

to be fair the second generation Xbox controllers are very easy fits now, and Gamecube controllers are fairly comfortable, save in a fighting game situtation. But i agree Sony has the best controller feel of all, except for the sega saturn, i just like that controller...

PS- how small are your hands? why am i the only person EVER who thought Xbox's first controllers weren't too big. I still use them whenever possible, i never opt for the little guy. I must have giant hands...

2006....I think not. The new xbox comes out before the PS3. I think it already has all the "better" games except for RPG's. I play FPS'ers and xbox is the only way to go.

The "Duke" controller evolved a long time ago....it's called the controller "S". A much better controller and I even prefer the offset analog sticks compared to the PS2. But the PS2 seemed a lil more simpler to play with.

This is just going to bring in biased-ness, but I'll try my best to give a broad look.

What types of games do you want to play? What franchises appeal to you the most? Would you prefer to stay more "family friendly" or does violence and more "mature" themes warrent your desire for games (in quotations because not everyone that plays them is actually mentally mature enough for them).

All three systems have their plus' and minus', it's up to the purchaser to decide for themself which one is better suited for them.

I'm a Gamecube man. Better graphics than the Playstation, and it seems that Nintendo has a deeper love for gameplay than the other systems. Especially Microsoft, who focus more on looks. They certainly have the best history.

I wish Sega still made consoles.

yeah, its all Xbox .. and i actually (owning both PS2 and Xbox find the Xbox controllers far more comfortable and better for any game with their easy access to many buttons.

I have to go with Gamecube too. I just love Nintendo and always have. I like PS2 for the GTA Games, Xbox is cool for Halo, but yeah.. Nintendo.
