Do they usually take this long to release a review? Of course, if you ask me, reviews shouldn't be released so fast. It's ridiculous to think you can rate an album the same day you got it. Personally I reserve judgement for a least a week. Plus I think Pitchfork has much too big of an ego to screw up a key album review. You gotta figure they realize that the Mars Volta review they did was garbage and wish they could change it. And lets face it, Deloused was best progressive rock album to come out in some time. You can't let anti-prog bias get in the way of a review. I still respect pitchfork more than any other website that reviews albums. I hope they get this one right. (It should be at least in the 8's on their scale -- which is well, well above average) _________________ If nobody makes you do it, it counts as fun -Hobbes |

Was the review garbage because they gave it a band one? And it is just your opinion that it was that important of an album. People forget that reviews are made by a person and it is that person's opinion. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it garbage. I'm interested to see what is said about Room Noises, but I don't care really... I like it, that's fine with me. |

No offense toward the band at all, but whose to say that Pitchfork will be reviewing the album? My guess is that they would give it between a 5 and a 6, anyway. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a review from them, let alone a good one. |

I don't get caught up with ratings if that's what you're asking. I just thought the review showed an anti-prog bias. I wrote that in the original post. I like pitchfork because those guys listen to way too much music and have well rounded opinions. But they aren't too big on progressive rock -- at least the guy that reviewed de-loused. Anyway, you know how I know they realized their review was a mistake? They gave Omar's side project a 7.5! I don't consider their review garbage because I disagree with it. I think it's garbage because tons of people disagree with it -- and if I suspect correctly, they would review de-loused differently at second look. _________________ If nobody makes you do it, it counts as fun -Hobbes |
