Not to knock Sherri or anything, but I don't think her short hair cut helped her any. Besides, how could Sherri be a lesbian? C'mon she's a Texan! _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. Well, it's a legitimate (albeit not terribly appropriate) question of anyone. It's ignorant to assume sexuality by appearance, or even by lyrics (at least these), but you never know answers unless you ask. So don't lay into him, because plenty of people here have done rude and ignorant things. That said, I really like that Eisley's lyrics aren't overspecific as far as gender. It's less alienating when you can identify. If you don't indetify gender, then it's easier for everyone to identify. So, instead of a song about some guy or girl, it's a universal love song. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

It upsets me that so many people on this forum take my thinking she or anyone in the band was gay as in insult. It insinuates a vast immaturity on this forum to say that I said this rudely. There is nothing rude in a question that in my eyes is extremely legitimate, and the fact that you view being gay as an insult is disappointing, trite, and ridiculous. _________________

Whoa, I never said being gay was an insult. Others may have taken it that way, but I certainly didn't. I said asking about someone's sexuality in such a manner is inappropriate and intrusive. Why should it matter? I'm all for openess, but I took your delivery as curt and vague in objective. That's all. (Edit) I think we may have gotten off on the wrong foot due to semantics. I took your question as being accusatory and insulting in that it sounded to me like you implied a scandalous nature to homosexuality. Personally, I don't really care if anyone is gay. I tend to be extremely accepting. I think if there's anything wrong with homosexuality, then it's between the person and God, and that we have no place to judge. Perhaps you share this view, too. I replied the way I did becuase that's how I read your qusetion. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Wow,I accept all people and the question didn't bother me. The only thing I find insulting is your diatribe against the people of this forum without having any actual knowledge about them. But we all are entitled to our own opinion. yeah, i thought about that briefly when i listened to golly sandra and i was like "why is stacy singing about a girl?" but then i was like "no way...stacy's not gay...she's like 16...no 16 year olds are actually gay...plus...it's stacy..." so yeah...it crossed my mind...but i've tossed it away as a possibility and it's merely a joke at this point _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

Can we lock this thread yet? I think it's run its course. The question's been answered; everyone's voiced their views on gay/straight issues; we seem to have insulted a new boardie (sorry and welcome, btw!). gRegor? A little help? Additionally, "Golly Sandra" is (in my estimation) a song sung from a parent to a child, just like "Head Against the Sky." Take that, Andrew. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |
