ok, here are some facts to why they are poor musicians. All of their songs are in major keys. No minor scales, no modes, just simple major scales. Nearly all their guitar work is power chords. I Could teach just abount anyone to play any NFG song given 1 weeks time. The bass player rarely diviates from playing the bass note of whatever power chord the guitarist plays. All of their songs are in very common time signitures and their drummer does very little to make the rhythm section of any song sound different from any other song. These are facts not my opinion. _________________ Dont you worry, and remember one thing, adventures are exciting... |

And all that amounts to is perhaps their music is "simple". Nothing more. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

So good music is a matter of using complex scales and chords? Have you looked at Sherri playing at all? I think most of the chords she does are power chords. Maybe you only like complex music, but I'm open to it all. I'm not right, I'm not wrong. Neither are you. Still a matter of opinion. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Same with the drums, and the (delicious) bass. I don't know any of NFG's stuff. I'm not really defending them as much as I'm pointing out silly subjective arguments. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

Im not saying only complex music is good. Eisley does alot of simple things, but they are innovative. Yeah, i could play every eisley song on guitar with little work, but ive been in and out of bands for 7 years and none of them have ever written anything that sounds like eisley. NFG is neither complex or innovative. _________________ Dont you worry, and remember one thing, adventures are exciting... |

NFG is neither complex or innovative. Maybe they aren't complex or even innovative. They'd be the first to say they aren't the 'best band ever', but they ARE good at what they do. And, just because you keep pointing out their 'faults' doesn't them make them bad in anyone else's eyes but your own. And, in the end, you come off looking arrogant and like an indie snob. Music isn't about snobbery, and it's not about complexity; it's about expression and how people can connect to it. And, your incessant beating of this band into the ground isn't going to make me turn around and say 'Oh wait, you're right.' I've loved this band for a long time, and that's all I need to know about. |

Kimbrtones wrote: and the opposite was true too. Some Eisley fans became BN fans. yup, hearing ppl talk about them around here so much got me interested in them. I hope next Eisley will try to cross over to the metal/hardcore scene, I'd love to see them on tour with the Haunted or Every time I die or maybe Bleeding Through shoot maybe Eisley can get on this years Ozzfest |
