I, too, was surprised to see people unleash their venom on NFG like this. Also, it was as though some people were trying to stifle others' opinions. Sort of Orwellian. I am getting kind of sick of defending NFG. Not to be rude or start arguments, but this is an Eisley forum. This isn't the music forum, this isn't the general forum... it's the Eisley forum. If you don't like NFG, I am totally pro-opinion... no one said you have to. I'm not even telling you to keep it to yourself. I am just asking that you be respectful. There are lots of bands I don't like, but if, say, Saosin (One of my favorite bands) wanted to tour with them (Let's say 'them' is Godsmack) as long as Godsmack (a band I reeaaallllyy dislike a lot) was being supportive to Saosin, I wouldn't go to the Saosin forum and complain about why they chose to tour with them. I'd be glad that Godsmack gave them such an oportunity. Anyway, being a long-time NFG fan, I'm a fan because they are awesome people who play FUN music. Who said music always has to be serious and amazingly composed? What happened to liking music because it's fun, or because it sounds good? Why does, in order for something to be good, have to be technically good? Would you rather that Eisley open for Britney Spears who doesn't even try to write her own songs? _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

I'm not trying to sound angry or be angry, I guess the internet just messes with the way things are meant to be said. I'm just a little bit tired of seeing NFG being bashed into pieces, when all they want to do is have a little fun and play some songs. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

Why does NFG require your defense? Do the opinions of strangers matter to them so much? Furthermore, changing peoples' subjective opinions is almost impossible. Such is the very nature of subjectivity. Why spend the energy? And, going back to the beginning, why create a thread with the sole purpose of bashing people, who by all reports have excellent character? Typing some stuff on a computer doesn't really take energy, it just gives me something to do when I have nothing to do except sit around and think of something better to do. NFG does not require my defense, but there are so many people that are spending their time complaining about Eisleys decision to tour with NFG, rather than just dealing with it because it's done and it's happening. NFG isn't trying to run the country, they aren't claiming to be amazing, I just wish this forum would be more happy Eisley music lovers, and less NFG music bashers. I'm not telling anyone what to think or say, I don't care if you don't like NFG and if you post about it... I'll ignore it. But sometimes I read something without knowing that it's going to be about NFG and I end up getting frustrated because it's already been said before. Can we just make one big "I hate NFG thread" and keep it all in the same place, at least? No need to fill the forum with it. Some people just want to talk about Eisley. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

If you'd read the thread, you'd have realized there was really only one guy doing any bashing, and that was only about their music. I would appreciate it if you'd stop generalizing. JD 3 people posted on this thread in a manner that MIGHT be construed as bashing. There are almost 5,000 people on this forum. How can 3 people be a representative sample? Even if that number was quadrupled, 12 people is not representative of almost 5,000. I'm sorry it had to come to that. Make no mistake, however, I fully understood the words you were using. Perhaps you might try different words. JD _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

I'm not a huge fan of NFG and I would have preferred that Eisley went out with a band I followed already (perhaps like the rumored Dave Matthews Band), however, I'll show them respect because they're fans of Eisley and are treating them great and promoting Eisley when they don't have to. I got to say though, they seemed kind of like A-holes on the Apprentice. |
