Wow! I truly didn't mean to bash NFG. I guess looking back at it, it does sound like I was meaning this to be a bash thread. I just thought the name of the thread sounded good, and I wanted to talk about my excitment to see Eisley. I apologize. _________________ Yours Ever True, Darcey ( I am a male) *Tips hat* [adv]www.theredballet.com[/adv] |

For quite a while I kept looking at your first post wondering why you would create such a thread subject and then virtually ignore it in the post itself. It is funny to find that it was by accident, especially considering how inflammatory this topic has been. Don't worry about it, you've nothing to apologize for. Some people are getting on the cross for their cause. Totally not your fault. Funny, though. Yeah. It is actually spelled H.E.L.P.eR. I don't know what that stands for, yet. Go Team Venture! I'm thinking of making that my signature, but probably won't. JD P.S. [Adult Swim] is coming to Austin for SxSW. Stoked! I'm gonna create a new post in General just for that topic. _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

I don't really see how anybody's been "bashing" anything in this thread, more just expressing that they don't particularly like Newfound Glory and they're sad they have to go to an NFG show to see Eisley. I don't see anything wrong with that. Nobody said anything about NFG fans. I'm sure they're all wonderful people! Obviously, anybody can just leave for NFG if they don't want to hear it, and that's fine, but it's a shame to pay full price for a concert and only stay for half of it. I think the main problem people have is that NFG and Eisley just don't go together well, and it would have been nice if they got paired with a band that Eisley fans are more likely to want to see. But hey, it's not the end of the world. Seeing a band you love is one of the best experiences in the world, regardless of who they're playing with. Still, a little harmless venting never hurt anybody. |

By the way, it may have avoided controversy to have them tour with a more similar band, but this is in the name of expanding their fan base. They can't do that if they play to the same people all the time. JD _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

is there something wrong with NFG? like them or hate them it doesn't matter it's your opinion. what does matter is appreciate what they're trying to do. what does matter is they wanted eisley to tour with them. what matters the most is without NFG you wouldn't be seeing eisley at all. give them a chance before arriving to your opinion. you never know... _________________ thank GOD for eisley |

edrock wrote: Quote: what matters the most is without NFG you wouldn't be seeing eisley at all Well...that's probably not true. They would have been on some other tour. HOWEVER! Your point is well taken. Again I say, please, let's keep LAUGHING CITY above some of the other boards by not bashing other bands. Eisley is having a great time on this tour, and are very grateful for the opportunity to play for NFG fans. Remember how it feels when we read stupid comments in Rolling Stone about Eisley, or hearing that some drunk NFG college boys flipped off Eisley and yelled to see the girls t#ts. HERE'S THE REALITY....Negativity just doesn't go very far. You have to scrape the bottom of the murk to get people to join in on that kind of thing. Life has enough negative and bad things happen everyday. It's not worth bashing a band that has worked so hard to get where they are. Even if situations come up that justify bashing, (I won't bring any specific ones back up!) One of my favorite lines that Boyd's grandmother use to say when asked if something she cooked was good, is, "It's good if you like it!" Enough of the NFG bashing...please! |
