 Post subject: Telescope eyes... I'm just like who?Posted: Sun Apr 03, 2005 7:34 pm 
Telescope eyes is definitely one of eisley's potentially more tear jerking songs, touching on the various experiences of rejection we have all felt. But I have to wonder about one lyric that is rather two-edged in its meaning. "I'm just like you, I know you know, I'm just like you, so leave me alone." Before I go off on my varied hypothesis' of what this could mean I want to know what some of you out there think. _________________ hmmm.... |

meaning: I'm just like you, so don't make fun of me. "so leave me alone" Meaning that we are all the same. We all put our pants on, one leg at a time. In reality, none of us are any better than the next human being on this planet, so why do some of us elevate ourselves above other people that we don't "think" are as cool as us, or good looking as us, or smart, or whatever. The person that is wanting to be left alone, is seeing the reality that we are all the same, and is tired of being picked on, and being made to feel inferior. You got this from their momma!

i think its about a crazy old astronomer. with braces. who was involved in a terrbile accident in which the telescopes got stuck in his eyes.
