I said "In my opinion" Eisley was the best band that night. To me, that is, wonderchica. Everyone has their own taste in music, and I understand that. But when another band's fans tear down the other bands playing, and they say nothing onstage about it, that's when its upsetting. RESPECT. I don't care for New Found Glory, but I'm not going to tell them to go to hell or anything like that. I didn't pick apart their music at the show or boo them, or flick them off (though I don't do that anyways). I just found that it was very rude. I think I've made my point very clear. I wish I could've said something. Some made of Eisley and Reggie and the Full Effect. Two of my favorite bands, double whammy, not good! And i'm especially mad because Stacy is, you know, my hero? I really want them to come back to Chicago. With an all ages show. They sounded so beautiful on stage, well I can't describe it in words. I wanted to scream stuff at NFG, but I decided not to out of common courtesy. I guess some people will be the way they are. And people made fun of my Beatles shirt! C'mon! _________________ -Gerard Have a wonderful evening everyone. www.xanga.com/yesterdaydream (omgz a xangaz!) www.myspace.com/yesterdaydreammusic (the band i'm in.) www.myspace.com/gerardmanalo (My, Myspace. I thought it was funny how the people by me kept saying that they were going to beat up those who were wearing shirts of the band, and there were these girls in sandals and non-concert apparel in the front. The bands were all great, the fans could have been better; all in all it was an awesome show. I don't think I have been to a concert where everyone liked all the bands, but I don't usually see people display themselves in such a shameful manner. I've seen bands that I just wanted to laugh at because they seemed like a joke, but I didn't because I know that hard work is put into every band regardless of how they appear. On another note I saw a movie the other day and the people behind me were talking the whole time, this made me ANGRY!!!! Yeah, I guess it wasn’t really related. _________________ I am not who I say I am! |

Here on the Eisley board, people tend to favor Eisley. _________________ "The artist, like the God of creation, remains within or behind or beyond or above his handiwork, invisible, refined out of existence, indifferent, paring his fingernails."(J.Joyce) |

Then these same people turn around and say rude things about the other bands on the tour because they dislike their music. I find it hypocritical. It's alright for you to voice your negative opinion of a band, but not for someone to voice theirs about Eisley? I understand being protective of your favorite band, but as Eisley grows larger and gains more fans, they will also gain more criticism. It's truly a double edged sword. I wish that some people on here would think a little more before they take cheap shots at Reggie and NFG. There are some lovely people on this board, but I think the band bashing needs to go. Disliking a band and expressing your opinion is one thing, but relentlessly criticizing is another. Thank you for your wonderfully stated mature comments. Seriously. Everytime I have talked with the band while on this tour, they have told me time after time, of how much support they are getting from these two bands. It's time for EISLEY fans to show respect too. It's ok if you don't like the other band's music, but you all should be thankful for how much they are going out of their way to show support IN FRONT OF THEIR FANS, to EISLEY. Each night, (after EISLEY's set, and after any booing), Sherri comes out on stage to sing with NFG. The guys in the band all bow to her like a princess and act like she is a queen to be revered. Chad comes out during EISLEY'S set and takes the picture for the contest, and hi-fives all the members of EISLEY. Whether you like their music or not, these guys are going to great effort to try an push some of their fans into the EISLEY camp. I find that very honorable, unselfish, and amazing. Just something to think about before you trash them again. As far as wearing a shirt that supports the band you are there for, that should be ok. As far as being annoyed with the immature people that say crap about your favorite band?...I totally understand, but...whatcha gonna do? |

I don’t disagree with what wonderchica05 said, I just think the comment was in the wrong thread. It belongs in one of those “NFG sucks” threads, not this one. This thread isn’t about bashing NFG, it’s targeted more at the fans at shows who are disrespectful to Eisley and maybe even Reggie. I’m not a fan of new found glory but I don't think it was right for people to start negative threads about them considering all the support they’ve given Eisley. However I seriously doubt that anybody who said bad things about NFG here would actually go and say those things at a show during their set. So I think Eisley fans do show the other bands respect. Maybe not so much on the forum, but they’re respectful at shows. Even if some NFG fans hate Eisley, all we want is for them to just treat Eisley with the same respect. |

i think i've caught up here... i've got a few things to say now... first of all... my feeling on the matter is, if you know you only want to see a band or two at a particular show, the go late or leave early.... personally, i had no interest in seeing nfg... i just never really got into them... so i left after reggie and the full effect... but also, sometimes it's nice to go to a show to only see one band and hear an opening or even headlining band for the first time and be totally blown away... i've been to a few shows like that... seeing ben kweller open for someone a few years back, for example... as for nfg's support of eisley... this is something i've ALWAYS respected of nfg, and a stack of other bands i don't listen to for that matter... it's gotta be tough for a more popular band to convince a label or whoever that they want to take a lesser known artist with them... granted, this is just what i gather since i really know nothing too in-depth about the industry... but how much easier would it have been for nfg to tour with another popular band and sell out all over the place... i give those guys a lot of credit as musicians even if i've outgrown their brand of music... |

I didn't think I trashed New Found Glory. Did I? Or was it someone else. If I did, I'm sorry. Thanks for the reply, Kim. It is true, New Found Glory did take a big step by getting Eisley on the tour with them. Amen, to that for sure. I just thought that I'd see who else was mad or disturbed by and who wasn't affected by it. I LOVE EISLEY SOOOO MUCH, and I'm sure most if not all of the boardies concur. I said at the end of the first post to show Eisley love, but others decided the other way and beat down New Found Glory. Sorry, once again guys, ABBAgirl _________________ ewe's not fat, ewe's fluffy! www.myspace.com/abbagirl2 |

I loathe NFG's music, but I don't deny the fact they seem like nice guys. When I was standing out in line waiting for the doors to open, the singer was walking around outside, talking with the fans and taking pictures. Seemed pretty easy going. I don't like their music, but I didn't wait for their set and start yelling/making rude gestures at them. I think there's a huge difference between my statement of not liking their music at all (being honest about that) and people who decide they will try to heckle Eisley during their set. _________________ Audioscrobbler Now

I have come here multiple times to defend nfg to the people on this forum. And I'm glad wonderchica and Kim have had the decency to write what they did. If you can't respect a band, then shame on you. NFG put a lot out there to bring Eisley on tour with them. They did it for fans like you. I don't care if you don't like Reggie and NFG's music... show them the resepct here that you would at the show. They took a chance on Eisley to bring them on tour and open fans, like myself, up to them. And I truly enjoy the music now, more so than I did before.... The guys from New Found Glory are amazing people. They are very generous and very caring and if you've never met them, maybe you should because they go out of their way to help people and make every fan happy. And they're helping make YOU happy by having Eisley on tour with them.... so I think many of you guys misunderstood what she had to say.... and really, she said what she had to say for a reason.... and I think she's absolutely right |
