Well, I just lost the auction for the 2xl shirt. I set my max bid at the exact amount of money I had in my chekcing account minus shipping, and he beat me with 6 seconds left. Congrats to brightwhite_elf for getting the shirt. Kim, don't feel bad about this. Merchandise is meant to be sold. That's its function. By the way, when a 2 year old shirt, advertising the failed name of a band that you are the mother of 4/5's of goes for 89.33 plus shipping, that should tell you that you're doing something right. This should only engourage you. Congrats on being a fantabulistic mom. |

Last second bids seem to be the only way to win stuff on eBay nowadays. An item that I sold a while back had 10 bids placed all within the last 5 seconds of the auction close, and no bids prior to that... Oh well, if you only had 89+shipping in your checking, I would say that it was probably better that you didn't win the bid anyways. (no offense, really) |

I have two banks, and thusly two checking accounts. Every week $20 is automatically taken from my paycheck and stuffed into the account in question. This is my disposable account. I use it for tickets to fun stuff, random performance parts for my car, cds, and whatever else I want. I have money in my other bank. |

I have something similar... its the best way to separate fun from the necessary and still have the money to do both. |

Yeah, it sucks if you are the high bidder for most of the auction and someone outbids you or rockets the price, but that's what happens when you have a timed auction. If you don't want to get outbid at the last second put in a high enough max bid. And I have to say, "holy crap!" That's a lot of money for a shirt! Let me know when you start auctioning the good stuff Kim. |

I can dish out that kind of cash because my little rat nest has not been touched in over a month. But since I didn't win the shirt, I can spend the money on other stuff, like tickets to the Cleveland show!!!!!! I swear, when he closes a door, he opens a window. |
