oh, i live in florida, and i adore eisley. everyone that i've played their cds for, fell in love with them. it is exposure, i think. or lack of exposure. if i hadn't seen eisley at cornerstone, i would not know who they are. neither would my friends, but they're our favorites and we mark our calendars every time they head this way. |

i've never been to the west coast, so i can't say anything about their music scene...but i was born and raised in baltimore, maryland, and now live in washington, d.c......and the way people react to music and the kids who go to shows are no different here than they are in london, where i lived for a good portion of last year. they just like different bands than in DC, because they have exposure to different bands. plus their "american accents" are terrible =) whoever suggested promotion also had a good idea. i haven't been to that many cd stores lately, but i haven't seen much eisley promotion except for on here. i only heard good things about eisley at the last NFG shows i went to, and the same after the two brand new shows i went to. the more promotion, the more you tour...that's how you get a fan base. i think people who like eisley like them regardless of location, but for some reason there just has not been as much press and promotion of them here on the east coast, partly due to the lack of headlining shows (not many people go to a show for an opening band, unless they REALLY like them). so...yeah. i forgot my main point. i just finished watching a four hour movie...but, anyway, i have a good deal of experience in the music business, so i trust completely in what i'm saying. _________________ rachelgreeneyes |

i second and third everyone who has been saying its about exposure. i live in new york and i do believe 5 people in my school know about eisley, myself included. i wrote their website on every desk i sit at, in attempts for them to gain fans out of people who might not have discovered them on their own. as for venues, i think if they played slighly bigger venues (with no age restrictions), there would be a bigger turnout for the show. promotion is all it takes, really. i would love to see eisley without having to worry about being carded, and hopefully this can happen in the near future. |

Is Tennessee east coast? well it's more east then the west coast. I think Eisley should've ended in the east and started in the west, because more people are hearing about eisley now that they are deep in the tour with NFG. Eisley came to nashville too fast or else there would have been more Eisley fans as time progressed. _________________ ROCK ME AMADEUS!! Well, representing a Bay State mindframe, I'd definitely say its exposure. Touring is a big part of that, including the fact that Eisley has only played Boston 3 times as far as I can remember (no headlining shows though). They need to hit up the east coast, especially Boston, as they did everywhere else; start at the small venues and work up. We are saturated with loads of local indie bands up here, so any new band coming in has to pay their dues as well. Opening for a big name will get you no where in Boston. I know they are playin here on their headlining tour, and that's a good place to start. We just need to see more of that. Radio is also a big thing. The east coast is seeing too much general classifications when it comes to radio demographics. Thus, Eisley isn't being played. I haven't heard any Eisley on any radio station so far, and I listen to quite a few stations. The fact of the matter is that thier needs to be some thought into what stations should play Eisley, and why. As I was saying, with so many school around here (many of which are "Ivy Leaguers," the indie scene is already overflowing with bands that have been out there, chipping away at the stone. It might not be a bad idea, from an industry perspective, for Eisley to book some college shows in the fall semester, linked with the release of the next single. They could spend months in New England alone, just touring area colleges. I know college kids are technically a little older than the target, but that's a way to get their name out their at least. And who knows...REM wasn't exactly cool or hip when they took the college scene by storm! |

Im tryin to spread the word here in Northern VA and DC. So if they come here, ill try to bring an entourage of peeps to the show. East Coast is alright, but i do miss the sweet San Diego weather. _________________ "Boo me if you want, it only makes me stronger" - Conan O'Brien |

why does wisconsin not get eisley? ohhh that's right, because there is nowhere to play in the barren frozen wasteland of grim death. um, i mean, in midwestern farm country. _________________ Saellys wrote: Thank God for Arielle all your kind, they're coming clean they shut their eyes their mess, their scene |
