Ok, even though I had a bit of a blunder in the last thread that I made, it did give me a cool idea for a new one.

Even though Eisley seem totally capable of producing themselves at this point, it would be cool if they would be able to get together with a kick-arse superproducer (sans-the five figure production cost that would be required ^_^)

So, these are some of my favourite producers that you guys may or may not recognize; either way, I'd feel that all of them would be capable of helping the group make a killer 2nd album. Take your pick, and if your pick's not on the list, post it with a band that they've recently worked with.

Nigel, Nigel, Nigel! OhmiGod, please pick Nigel!

I think Boyd said at some point that Nigel was interested in the job, but had a conflict of schedules.

You rock. I was going to say Albini and think no one would ever guess that. I'm dead serious: Steve Albini.

BTW, just to let you guys know that I'd put my money on Dave Friedman, now that the Delgados have broken up *moment of silence* Crying or Very sad his recordings with the Lips, Delgados and Mogwai (on Rock Action) are a really neat blend of Psychadelics and Pop with a good deal of spacy FX thrown in. I think alot of people here would probably like the Delgados, if they wanted to check them out, just go here:

I was just about to say that. It's not unlikely, either.

I voted for Chris Walla though, because I think Eisley's sound is very similar to Death Cab's a lot of the time.

Yeah, that'd be cool. Aaron Sprinkle's a really good producer and such. I also like his solo work.

I would love to hear Nigel Godrich produce their next album, but I think that he is probably the least likely possibility from that list. After Nigel though I'd probably choose Friedman. His catalog is really solid and he works with other great people. I like Chris Walla, Picaresque sounded great... but I wasn't a big fan of Transatlanticism. It was recorded well, but kind of bland compared to some of these others. Not that he'd be a bad choice.

What about Trent Bell? (Flaming Lips, Starlight Mints, Ghosty, Aqueduct)

Oh, how could I forget to mention Phil Ek... that would be a really interesting combination. Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Aveo, the Shins, 764-Hero, Quasi, the Veils), his body of work is VERY impressive.
