i've been listening to room noises so much lately, and today i decided to listen to the ep's. and i think they sound so much better. much more real. like their voices are more clear it seems like. not that room noises is bad, those versions are great too. but yeah, does anyone else think the older versions of the songs sound more.... real?

i think they're "more real". They had a smaller budget, so less time was spent with pro tools and things of the sort.

I think the drums sound like utter garbage on the EPs. Maybe worse. The rest of the stuff goes on a song-by-song basis. But I think Eisley could probably benefit from a little less production in the future. That's how it works.

haha. yep. it's ALL great. but i liked the rawness of the ep's. there's just something about the songs that were on there that appeal to me more than the rehashed ones on room noises. so yea, maybe a little less production. or maybe produce with the neptunes Razz

Out of the 4-5 producers they had on room noises all the songs sound consistent which means a good mastering engineer. That guy needs some props. The only thing I find wrong with the sound is its at sometimes a little left heavy. And i agree about the drum sound on the ep's wayy to powerful in the mix.

Personally, room noises to me sounds juuuuuuust about perfect... *side note* the neptunes are no longer together, just to let you know Smile

I think they're not powerful enough. Laughing Studio albums make drums sound paper thin and crappy. You see Eisley live, and the drums really make a presence. You listen to the CD and they're just kind of there. Unless they're on the EPs, where they sound like little whimpers. No offense. Confused
