hey boyd--

i know it's probably a bit early to talk about the UK, as nothing is written in stone, but I would like to offer up a suggestion to pass on to managment, if you will. i know you guys will probably want to tour with one of the better indie-rock bands out there when you go over, and i'd like to suggest one. They're a band called Flotation Toy Warning, and they're a five-piece based out of London. They're really...really...magical. Their debut album came out last year in Europe, was just released a week and a half ago here in the states, and I have a feeling they're going to conquer the world. Well, the flamin'lippin'mercury'revin' part of the world that needs to be conquered, that is.

Check 'em out on the interweb:
http://www.flotationtoywarning.co.uk/

if they're not available, go with the Engineers!

love,
mister joseph

Ah yeah, I'd say the band would be good supporting Thirteen Senses or Starsailor too.

Or a band like them, a mixture of mellow rock. They'd of been awesome supportnig Bright Eyes when they played Somerset House.

In my personal opinion, they just need to get playing shows over here, with anyone.

I'd like to keep it small, so they'd be at smaller venues for their first time, but i mean i guess they'd have to go for a support slot to maybe someone bigger, to bring in the fans? i don't know.
i say they do their own UK headlining tour in like, really small venues, and have me open for them on my acoustic guitar.
i'll do the promoting Wink

Because you entitled the topic "A Modest Proposal" I thought the post would be about your suggestion to feed Eisley to the rich and use their hides for clothes.

I was sadly mistaken.

When Eisley comes to the UK, they'll first come out as support for a UK band...small clubs, yes. Thanks for the tip mr joseph. One thing that's really cool is, I really feel like the band is working with one of the best overseas agents out there; He took Eisley on after hearing Laughing City...(freaked. forecasted a great market for the band across the pond). He books Coldplay and others over there. But either way, I'm sure they'll open for a very cool, smaller band. HEADLINE? are you kidding? 5 people would show up. ha ha... One thing is for sure, Eisley will skip across the pond. You will see them. You will meet them. More on that as I get the actual dates.

I always thought that Ireland would be a fantastic place to emphasis the band. I really think the band could find a large audience there and then propel to the UK, ala David Gray (it was because of success of White Ladder in Ireland that kick-started his failing career). The Irish audience is extrememly loyal and very open to new bands. Best of all, because the country is so small, getting radio coverage on RTE or Today FM would have people listening across the country in one shot.

Boyd, push management to get coverage on Tom Dunne's "Pet Sounds" on Today FM (www.todayfm.com). He is one of the most respected names in Irish radio and has helped break many talented bands their.

Anyway, that's my two cents from a former Irish native that has been busy pushing Eisley love to my friends in the old country (and they love them, yes yes). Very Happy

From last post. Thanks. I believe in an Irish market as well... not only because they hit it off great with Damien, but also, Snow Patrol's Irish fan base often approached Eisely with the same enthusiasm and hope. I'm talking about native Irish... they'd say, "oh...you guys would go over so well in Ireland. You have to go there..."

On Festivals and the promise to go to the UK. They were supposed to play those festivals and go back to the UK... but, hmm. I dunno. old mngmt. - they didn't make it happen or seem to be into that. New mngmnt is very proactive towards international marketing. Very pro world domination.

btw. I just researched this and not sure who's booking in the UK Eisley yet. I thought I knew, but will find out.

Anyway. I hope you Englishmen and women are spreading the word - because Eisley IS coming. I'm not the boyd who cried wolf.

I was thinking along those lines also. Either way I'm glad we were wrong.

Exactly.... Eisley could be HUGE over there. And once they see what amazing people you are, look out.... they will want to adopt you as their own and change your last names to O'DuPree.
