I began this thread with a bit of Houston scoop: below, but it's turning into a broader discussion about all shows. I'm trying to be more educated on this so I can help you guys. We should pool our info and become wise in these areas.... not just for this show but for all your other favorite bands. ------------------------------------------------------ I have a little info that might help concerning the Houston show... if anyone wants to know. "Tickets seem to still be available through Ticketmaster using the pro motional password of "sound". The best available seat seems to be starting with row O which is near the middle of the auditorium. Apparently MusicToday had rows A thru G to sell and they sold out in about 30 minutes. They are reporting a sold out condition which is not entirely accurate." See, this is a perfect example of how "sold out" could be a total misconception. You have to dig for gold. ------------------------------------------------------- Updated INFO! "It wasn't the venue (Stafford) sold out... It was MusicToday. They are sold out of their allotment of pre-sales tickets. MusicToday got the first shot and the best seats. Ticketmaster presales with promo password got the second shot at some unknown allotment which is not sold out yet. Everything else goes on sale the 17th including some unknown quantity of unadvertised "walk up" tickets at the venue. So with ticktmaster and the promo password, it seems to be moving much slower. This morning row O was the best... You can still get row O a couple of hours later. The password "sound" cannot be found on ticketmaster it came from the venue.... Here is some info on that process from Ticketmaster:" _______________________________ What is an Internet Presale? Occasionally, some events will be available to purchase over the Internet in advance of the general public onsale. These presales frequently require a password that may be distributed by the venue, artist, team, or promoter of either the event or the presale, or distributed by Ticketmaster. Often, these passwords are distributed to exclusive members of clubs or certain other types of groups and cannot be offered to members of the public. Links may be published on the Event Information page at the time of presale. Ticketmaster charge-by-phone and Customer Service representatives usually cannot give out passwords. If an event is scheduled for presale and we are authorized to publish so in advance, the event page may list an "Internet Presale" date in the ticket onsale information. When entering your presale password into a promotional page, window or box in an email, please ensure you are entering it in the appropriate box: A presale password is not the same as your My Account password. Internet presales are usually sold from an allotment of seats, which may not reflect the same availability during the public onsale. Internet presales provide the advantage of exclusive purchasing windows in advance of the public onsale, which often results in less people competing for the pool of available seats. However, Internet presales may also have limited seating available in various areas - these presales are intended as advance purchasing windows and do not necessarily provide access to better seating. In fact, it is possible that you may be able to obtain tickets for better seats at the general public onsale than those that you purchase through a presale. We must remind you that Ticketmaster does not offer refunds or exchanges, so you will not be able to replace the tickets you obtain at a presale with other tickets that subsequently become available ------------------------------------------------------- More boidnotes: And, once you're convinced that on-line tickets are sold out, call the VENUE... see if you can talk to a warm body. If not, actually go to the venue... during the afternoon, or evening when they're there. Stop by... open the door, go in... Look dumb but ask someone and get them to track down the right person who can answer the question: "Is there anyone I can talk to to find out information about HOW I CAN I GET TICKETS TO THE SWITCHFOOT/EISLEY SHOW? Can I buy any now? If not, what time would you suggest I get here to make sure I get a ticket?" Give them a sad luck story of how you've waited and waited all year to see Eisley... :--) People are more human than you think. Someone might give you the hook up. I see this all the time. If all else fails, find out who's promoting the show. Call the PROMOTER. Give them your sad luck story... get the inside scoop. There's always an inside scoop. If all else fails... go down there and ask if anyone has tickets for sale in line. Tons of people randomly buy too many and are embarrassed to sell them or become a scalper. Walk the long line... tell people what you're looking for. Go to the door guys. Ask them even though you know the answer. Get face contact. At least, let them and let them know you're waiting... in case anything breaks. I see all of these scenarios working all the time. And, of course, sometimes they don't. Don't forget E-bay. I don't want you guys to waste your time or money just to see Eisley. I'm just trying to give some creative resource info. Please... anyone add to this feeble attempt to help. Thanks. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Talk about dedication. That's so rad that Boyd is giving all these ideas for people and ways to get tickets. I've gone to so many sold out shows, and managed to snag some tickets from kids who bought one too many and had a friend who didn't show. So the odds are pretty good! BE CAREFUL, though. Don't get tickets from scalpers. They usually charge way more than the door price and the tickets may be fake. Just a heads up. _________________ You're just jealous 'cause we're young & in love. |

So as long as you get tickets and you get there early, then you're okay. _________________ Weston wrote: i spit out a flury of rude language at garron like, "UGH!....DUMMY!" he flips out and crys for the next couple of hours, then we stop at subway my favorite restaurant and buy him a sub and things are cool now. you guys to waste your time or money just to see Eisley. What a ridiculous thing to say I, for one, will probably lose sleep tonight and tomorrow waiting for the 17th to come. Hmm... if all else fails and I for some reason can not get tickets, I'll just drive down to SD and hope I can hear the show from outside Will Eisley be meeting fans afterwards on this tour?? Oh and thank and thank and thank you for all these tips! |
