i heard in advisory class today that ACL was going to be cancelled. But then again it was just a rumor. so i dunno, i geuss we'll see.  _________________

I don't think they would cancel the entire festival. Saturday is the only day it would be bad enough to do anything about. They might reschedule some things. We'll see later tonight. They are supposed to give a final decision on their website. |

Oh no. I'm not going, but there are so many people looking forward to it. I hope it isn't cancelled, but whatever they decide must be for safety.

I relocated cause of the hurricane closer to Austin, actually.. I hope it's not gonna be cencelled!!! What would happen if they did? All those bands... |

they haven't told me anything different. as of right now, show's still on. hurricane heading more northerly... so... ACL has a blog on the middle right of their site about the hurricane. "The show is on. Thank you for hanging in there with us while we've watched the progress of Hurricane Rita. The meteorologists we have consulted with advised us to wait until 48 hours before expected landfall in order to get the most accurate look at the storm's track. As you may have already heard, the latest report from the National Weather Service shows Rita shifting further east than originally predicted, placing Austin outside the range of severe weather related to the hurricane. Therefore, we are planning to go forward with the Festival as originally planned. The forecast now calls for mostly sunny weather on Friday with a high near 100. A 20 to 30 percent chance of rain is predicted for Saturday and Sunday with winds around 15 to 20 mph and overall cooler temperatures. Regardless of the nice weather we are now expecting, we are continuing to monitor the hurricane very closely. The safety of our fans, the musicians and our crew is our top priority, and we are working with the city to make sure we are prepared for every contingency. Should anything change, we will post updates on our web site and coordinate with the media to disseminate information as quickly as possible." - austincitylimits.com

wait... did you write that clark? or did you lift that from the site? are you ACL? ACL himself? but i've been watching...it's 10:00 and now it looks like it's shifting back toward the west... toward Galveston. I guess that's why they call them " HERricanes". (we used to say that on the playground to make the Louisiana girls mad). Anyway, the nice weatherman said the hurricane would probably blow my face off. They told me to get some plywood.
