So...I got my Sept/Oct issue of Campus Life a couple weeks ago. Campus Life is a Christian teen magazine, and so there's this section in every normal issue in the middle pagespread headed "We Recommend: Christian Alternatives." They have this nice, concise chart: Genre | Artist/Album | Compare To (mainstream bands) | Note This (details) Indeed, Eisley was one of the "Christian bands" mentioned. And that bugs me. Not just because this tags them with the "Christian band" label. But this: "[Compare to] Natalie Imbruglia, Vanessa Carlton, Alanis Morissette, Butterfly Boucher, Dido" Natalie Imbruglia? They suck at this. I should totally take this guy's job. Who do you guys compare Eisley to when you're trying to describe their music? _________________ --Lin-- If I had something clever to say... I guess if you have to compare them with something then you're bound to screw up anyway you turn. They can't be compared to anything or anyone. JD _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

I found some Towhead posters the other day in my files. They were just printed down at Kinko's, and in black and white, but they had Amy, their original bass player, and Stacy was a little girl! I should scan one...... maybe tomorrow. I have to go to bed. Oh and, they sound like EISLEY! |
