Last night's show at the Vic in Chicago was unbelievable. I was still on cloud 9 from the previous night's show (see here, part 1 - Paul McCartney Live Smile http://www.eisley.com/laughingcity/viewtopic.php?t=19543 ), so that just further helped the amazing-ness of what we all know and love as Eisley live. Before (and well, after) the show started I had the pleasure of meeting a few people from this board (and a few lurkers). Tim, allen, judd, amy (i hope im getting these right), the dude with the huge hair and his girlfriend - their names escape me at the moment - and lauren. i think thats all.. anyways, you guys were awesome. i was very happy to share my first eisley show in chicago with you guys.

the opening band was really cool, Reeve Oliver. funny dudes, really into the show. a lot of fun to watch, and good tunes too.

Eisley was on point, they looked like they were having a lot of fun. Lots and lots of smiles, Sherri said at one point how much they love playing chicago.. and how its one of their fav. places to play. im really glad i was there, they really seemed to be enjoying themselves. They sounded really tight, and I was super impressed with Garron. Played everything perfect. "Many Funerals" was amaaaaaaazing. wow. wooow. could def. tell it was a Sherri song Smile Its kind of haunting... some really cool guitar work, some awesome rhythms too. I loved their set, and i would post a setlist but i dont want to ruin it for anyone at any upcoming shows.

I really hope they gained some new fans, I heard a lot of good things after their set.

You guys did an amazing job, as always! Very Happy

Switchfoot blew me away. It sounds like a big freekin brick wall of guitars and drums and melody all bunched up into one.. with a tender acoustic side that reveals itself once in a while. awesome show, I definitely reccomend sticking around to see them. Powerful stuff.

After the show, we got to hang out with the band for a while. I've said it before, Ill say it a gazillion more times, but they are by far the nicest band i've ever met. Garron is a cool guy, I really liked him. I didnt get a chance to say hi to Sherri, so if you read this Sherri : "hi. you were amazing. Smile " When I talked to Stacy, I wanted to take a picture with her, but I'm always seeing just plain "sit there and smile" pictures. I wanted to do something different. So we decided to do something creative... since we were in an alley, she suggested we be mean street thugs. this is the result :

Laughing yesss

I talked to Chauntelle and Boyd the longest I think, we talked about lots of different things. amazing things. I reeeeeeally hope you sing soon, Chauntelle! Im excited to hear this song of yours Smile (thank you guys for sticking around after everyone else got in the van, it meant a lot to me Smile )

I got to share some pictures with them too, the pictures of Paul McCartney live. I felt kinda weird -in a good way, i guess - that my favorite group of musicians were huddled around me gawking at these pictures I took. It was a cool moment.

Thank you guys for an amazing evening. Until next time Smile

love love love love love love Tony

here are some pictures from the show. enjoy Smile
some of em are kinda dark, sorry. no flash on those.

this is true, tony is a great guy. glad you were there with my friends and i mister tony... loved every second of it. and quite a lovely batch of pictures. oh what a night. i was wow'd. overwow'd. and yes, many funerals... i got shivers. not kidding. the good shivers, the shivers where it makes you feel like you're LOSING YOUR MIND because you're getting owned by a lovely lyrical feast dished out by an overly amazing band. yeah... the feeling was like one of those sierra mist commercials.
