clark, i agree with you, to what you said four pages ago. i mean, i love veggie burgers (except nature's promise - i bought some of them recently and they taste like rubber), and they have stayed in my diet since i was veg about 6 or 7 years ago. and i've recently become a fan of soy milk (really only silk vanilla, and only in certain circumstances - i already have a milk aversion and can't do much of it). but the concept is still beyond me. i guess this is also because i had never heard much about people being veg for health reasons. when i cut out meat, it was for animal-welfare reasons, and the fact that i didn't like meat much. however, at the time i was too busy to cook my own meals, and i felt guilty that my mom had to make so many different ones (my dad and sister are picky eaters). also, i reasoned myself out of the animal issues. and ever since then, i've had straight-up meat cravings, something i had never experienced before. when i'm done with school and am making more money, i'll be more concerned with what i'm eating (i love fish, but can't afford to buy it much if at all). but i love trying out veg and vegan recipes and foods, and rolling my eyes when DC kids are having "anti-imperialism, anti-colonialism all vegan potlucks and punk rock shows" around thanksgiving. _________________ rachelgreeneyes |

Becoming a vegetarian never crossed my mind until a few months ago when I met someone who was a vegetarian. He never forced his ideas on me, but just knowing he was made me think about it a lot. I guess you can say I cut back on eating meat a lot. Then I recently read Lord Of The Flies. And once I got to the chapter about the sow head, I just felt like barfing. I really respect vegetarians... and really, I aspire to be one. But I guess it's easier said than done. And I also feel like I'm the only one here who actually likes soy milk and doesn't find it the least bit digusting. *shrugs* |

I would love to get into tofu and soy products (I'm not sure products is quite the right word), but I'm at risk for thyroid problems, my mom had to take pills for hers, and soy is catalyst that worsens the problems, except when used in moderation. When I like a food, I eat it all the time until I get tired of it. oi vey. but the video was cool, I would like to try some of the food! _________________

I really want to make that chocolate pie. Pie is where it's at. I'm kind of still in the transition stages of becoming a vegetarian. It's a change I've decided to make recently (about 2 months ago), and I'm still learning. My family eats a lot of meat, and I kind of feel bad about not eating what my mom cooks, but I am learning to make vegetarian foods and someday maybe they won't make faces at me when I say the word "tofu". I have decided to stop eating meat mostly for health reasons. It probably sounds really unreasonable, but I get worried about things like e-coli and mad cow disease. And the heart disease thing is important to me, as well as just being all-around healthy. I think that being a vegetarian forces me to generally be more concious of what I'm eating, so I make healthier choices more often. I'm not so sure about the vegan scene. Animal treatment is important to me, but not as much as my health, and...I don't know. To me, vegansim (is that even a word?) seems a bit on the extreme side. But it works for some people, and that's good. I just don't think it's for me. Anyway. I had a point. And that would be, it's cool that Stacy is a vegetarian, and that the band is into healthy eating, because that means they'll be around longer to make good music for our ears. And they will have nice looking arteries and such. |

I'm a vegetarian and have been for just over a year. My ultimate goal is to be vegan even though it's really for just personal reasons. I don't wear leather or buy leather products and I try to only buy products that are not tested on animals, but I don't look down my nose at people who don't agree with me. I have a friend who's been a vegetarian for 11 years who still wears leather, I feel like the reasons I do or don't do something are personal and so are everyone elses. I don't care what you do or what you wear or buy or eat. I don't agree with those people who feel the need to spray paint all over people who wear fur or slash a leather jacket. I may not agree with them for wearing it but I disagree with the person doing the slashing/painting much more. If you want people to understand why you see a certain way on an issue you should have an intelligent conversation with them. If you're doing something for non-violence against animals, why are you using violence? |

this was a cool video. interesting. It was wierd to see Stacy interviewed and talking so much, she always seems so shy. It was nice. I love how they're all so humble and they seem kind of shy. They're just regular ol' people. nice _________________ Julie Do you believe in something beautiful? This reminds me that I just had the best steak the yesterday. It was so thick and juicy, and I had it cooked medium so it was very soft. The cut was fantastic. JD _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

I've hated regular milk my whole life. I can't stand the stuff. I eat dry cereal, rather than having it swim in gross milk. _________________ - Jessica ------------------------------------------------------- "So many bands are like painters standing in front of their paintings going, 'Look at me, I did this.'
