Drummers are kind of like the competative sprinters of music: We have VERY awkward action poses.

lol (at the picture and the fact that Eisley's main job is actually saving the day)

an artist's work is open to interpretation by the individual because we all have different experiences. The artist just sets boundaries on where that interpretation takes place

For example a picture of a house means different things to us.
Also, for some Boyd is just a dude but to others he's batman

Let the Monkeys Talk!

"I am really a personal person and music is how
i choose to express myself. In patterns, not in primitive
words.........." Stacy Dupree - Eisley

Primitive? Dear Sweet Stacy...words are far from primitive.

In fact words and music are almost the exact same thing.....and music is far from superior! In fact words are more complex. Not only that but the instruments used to produce words are extremely more complex than musical instruments.

Using patterns of sounds to create a mood or emotions is about as far as you'll get with musical instruments. Words, however, are patterns of letters which are interpreted into which ever sound that letter represents, which in turn, if that pattern is recognized, creates an idea or picture and even moods and emotions. Don't get me wrong, music can be interpreted into pictures and ideas, but words are more precise and less general. A melody can only convey so much, but a novel can take you to an exact location or introduce you to an exact character. Think about it, it would be imposible for me to covey this exact message in patterns of musical notes. Primitive? I think not. Idea

I sent stacy a PM of this, but BNROCKS thought I should post it for discussion. Very Happy

I can't tell if you are all being sarcastic or being mean. If it's the latter, chill dudes. You'll live.

This is ridiculous.

Stacy is talking about expressions through music and you're talking about writing novels. How did that garner a several-paragraph response?

You pretty much took Stacy's words out of context and continued to state the obvious.

And a melody can convey so much.
