I definitely prefer the Laughing City EP version of "Telescope Eyes" over the Room Noises version.

I wholly agree.

No dobut the laughing city version is far superior. Less production, more raw energy and talent allowed to creatively flow through. However, I see why the major label wanted to get rid of specific names (Michael), and other extra sensitive items ...let your short legs carry you away...you freak...

Yeah, it was Matthew. "Dear Matthew, why can't you see?"

Maybe they got confused with Michael's Song?

Agree!

It was the first Eisley song I heard and I fell in love with them! Very Happy

The "Marvelous Things video" is what made me fall in love with Eisley.

I'm pretty sure voting for the LC version is the trendy thing to do.

Yes it has "less production" and "raw energy" but the RN version is simply stronger. It displays stronger musicianship, more effective structure (use of that 'solo' riff), complementing verse melodies ("with you, you see" and "with you", respectively), and that sweet three-part harmony to close it off.

Plus it's way catchier.

And there's a triangle! (I think)

Sounds kind of like bells to me.

I like Room Noises the best. In my opinion, Sherri's melody and vocals sounds better when the song is sped up, and the bass line is much more powerful. Plus, I prefer the arrangement this time around.

Personally, it's not a favourite Eisley song of mine, so I'm fairly indifferent, but that's my input.
