Post subject: Farmingdale, NY - Crazy Donkey...the unofficial Now w/ pics
Posted: Thu Mar 30, 2006 7:50 pm Until Boyd gets time to write the real deal, this is the unofficial outsider's perspective on the show. WARNING: The following does not express the opinions or preferences or words or anything of Eisley or any DuPree. Its late, and i'm trying to get tired...so i'm being construdctive SOOOO first, the venue...Its like a bar/nightclub/venue/dungeon...but whatever. There were like 3 bands on before Brighten came on, local Long Island bands I guess...I think one of them was a metal band...anyway. Brighten ripped as always, Simon Dawes was great as well, and now for the meat...or processed soy protein of the post: It seemed to me like the crowd kiind of thinned out as the show went on. It started sort of biggish and spread out, and ended up a bunch of really excited loud great people who knew words to songs and had great energy. I'll let Boyd comment in his official post about sound and performance and all of the stuff that he critiques since its what he does (this is just the tide-you over since I'm not driving right now) Weird...I feel like a very momentary fourth-rate surrogate web-Boyd-bot with the picture taking and posting and junk the last two nights because he's so busy holding the entire world up like Atlas. Atlas aint' got nothin on ol' Boyd. Anyway...he got what looked to me to be some really great video. The band was good. Sherri's voice was shot but she still marched on...waivering a little, but very little from what I could tell...she sounded just dandy to me. Chauntelle had almost no gear problems, which is good...beacause they've been plaguing her I guess. I got some great great great pics (for lighting conditions) and they'll be up in a minute when they're off the cards. (Dear Boyd, I hope I'm not infringing...I just know how you're busy like mad crazy and figured I'd give the outsider's perspective update on tonight's show. And thanks all you guys...Boyd, Weston, Chauntelle, you know how it rolls.) And now, pics. There's a crap tonne more, but they arent massaged yet and its like well past 4am. Here's some...enjoy them, or get lit on fire. The Band The Rhythm The Smoky Soul Singer The Woman Who Has Way Too Much Fun Doing Her Job The Room The Stacy and The One With The Burnt Out Voice (caught someone else's flash...so money it didn't even know it) it worked, i'm tired. peace out. _________________ knives don't have your back. |

Thanks for the pictures (they're awesome) and for the description of the show. I really like the vibrant colors in the Garron-Weston shot. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. thoughtlessbeast wrote Garron a letter telling him to smile, but I stopped her from giving it the merch people because I thought he would be offended. And now I'm not sure he would have been, but I think she has it anyway. _________________ ASTER (i'll think of a clever signature someday.) |
