hello friends! maybe some of you can answer these. i was wondering...why doesn't the band play "one day i slowly floated away" live? i my humble opinion, i think that song is the best on the record. haha, and i LOVE every song. their melodies & harmonies are so sick on that song, i can't even put it into words. so, again...why don't they play it? or maybe they do & they never played it at shows i've been to. haha, someone clarify! please thanks, also...i had heard before in statements that the band has made, but i figured i'd ask the mighty laughing city...is it true that chauntelle doesn't write lyrics or music. is that really only shared between sherri & stacy? thanks for your time folks... |

Chauntelle has written a few songs, and I know at least one is going on the new album. She just hasn't gotten the confidence back enough to sing yet. As for why they don't play "One Day I ..." I am not sure. It is an amazing song. Perhaps they feel the ones that they do incoporate into their set are the stronger selections when combined with the newer songs. You have to keep a flow to a show, and maybe they feel that song would throw things off. |

I have heard them play One Day ... at least once live. If we beg for it enough, chances are that they'll probably play it eventually (except maybe Pretender). They're really cool like that. Chauntelle does generally take a backseat as far as lyrics go. But that's mostly by choice. I think they usually sing the songs they write (with some exceptions, I think, when the song is better suited for the other sister). So if Chauntelle is unwilling to sing, it would make sense that she wouldn't write much for the band, either. But yes, she has started writing and singing again, so hopefully we'll get to hear some of her work on the new album. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I don't think the pressure is on her, it's on the whole band to pick the best group of songs for the album. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

But, the more you write the easier it becomes, I hear, so here's hoping. _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

[quote="TheAntrider"]I have heard them play One Day ... at least once live. If we beg for it enough, chances are that they'll probably play it eventually (except maybe Pretender). They're really cool like that. quote] You're probably right,BUT, I remember that once a while ago on an old journal, I saw this list of songs they play, and it said 10 out of 12 room noises tracks. The ones left out were Lost at Sea, which I've only seen them playing in that UGO thing(so I don't know why they wouldn't play it) and One Day I Slowly Floated Away. So at some point I think they discounted playing it entirely, an unfortunate decision as I do too love the song!! |

I couldn't imagine it's an easy song to sing. Maybe they just sort of avoid it most of the time. If so, they probably wouldn't mind performing it occasionally if people really wanted them to. _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

I was so tempted to shout out "PRETENDER" at the Metro show. But then I thought twice, not wanting to be "that" person. I kinda like that song, but they (or Chauntelle) apparently don't. So hopefully she will get some singing on the new album. |

One Day is my favourite on the album, too. I think I remember reading in a newspaper interview/article Stacy saying it was her favourite on the album. I think it was in the Dallas paper, not sure though. They had interviewed all of them individually. A few questions. |

I think Brightly Wound is the only song on the album I've heard them say they don't really care much for as far as performing live. I imagine they'd like to give Telescope Eyes a rest, but that one is probably too much of a hit to shelve. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
