IF i was to perform an Eisley song at my school concert (only a really small one, nothing big), would I need permission from the band?

If I do, I am asking now Smile

yes.

venues and club owners are supposed to pay for that for live performances. when it's recorded, then it's the artist/label/whoever.

i don't think you need direct permission from the band or anything like that, the owner just has to pay a fee to ASCAP/BMI or whoever for the use of the song.
