Hey all!! Just returned from Eisley Manchester gig. Amazing would be an understatement. Wow, i love the live eq of Eisley, how fresh and raw they sound. Absolutely amazing I have to say, talked to a few TBS fans, really nice and friendly BUT i felt like Eisley - greatest band of all time was SO underappreciated. I know that this tour is TBS's spotlight, but still... Chauntelle walks across the stage early on, and im like "holy s*** (PG-13 for younger members), that's Chauntelle Dupree. suddenly im confused as there is silence and nobody is cheering??? That's Chaunty!!! Oh my god, where are the banners and the screams. So yeah, there were quite a few sound problems, but it made no difference, they kicked ass so hard i cant sit down I only stayed for HelloGoodbye and Eisley, both amazing, but ive gotta say - on behalf of UK fans - SORRY EISLEY FOR THE LACKLUSTRE ENTHUSIASM. YOU ARE THE BEST BAND TO EVER TOUCH OUR ISLAND, AND YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE CREDIT THAN YOU RECEIVED. Well i love you, and know you are the cats pyjamas, so thankyou for giving me the infinite inspiration and excitement that i feel. Oh, they played Taking Control and Invasion out of the new songs - very cool, i particularly like Taking Control - beautiful chorus harmonies. An ode to Garron - gotta say being truthful, not trying to step on any toes, but i was gutted when Jonathon left, and after seeing them live tonight for first time, I really warmed to Garron, he so cool. He was really shy, but an amazing bass player and really harmonised with the band so well. So yeah, what im trying to get to, is how to resolve the Eisley Lacklustre problems. Im thinking could we boardies meet up or flock together before the next coming gigs, get right to the front and give the band the respect and support they deserve. Take no offense manchester fans, you were great, but i just feel Eisley have come such a long way. amd they deserve more credit. Kick ass show though, plus i got Room Noises on Vinyl. Yayyy!! |

I wish it could have been like that at the shows that I've been to, because there were a lot of of 14 year old girls FREAKING OUT when they saw sherri. I was scared. But, Eisley's getting big now, witchh results in fans freaking out! A small price to pay _________________ www.allisongill.net www.myspace.com/silverbugs www.last.fm/users/allisoncostello www.imahuman.tumblr.com www.isitreallysostrange.wordpress.com [i spend too much time on the internet, apparently.]

I still find it weird the bands eisley always seem to go on tour with. It's great they are playing these gigs but you can't expect a fan of Taking back sunday (for example) to embrace them completely because it's not the type of music they've gone to the show to see.Thats nothing against TBS fans or eisley,it's just how it is. I like diversity in music but if for instance I went to see my favourite band (muse) and a folk singer came out and supported I'd find it hard to get into even though I like folk music. Not sure if that made sense but it does in my head _________________

People in the mosh pit expecting to bang into eachother while TBS plays aren't going to be able to do that to Eisley's music... although that would be pretty funny to see _________________ I know how I was born and I know that I have no choice. I mean, maybe it's odd, but I listen to all sorts of music, including instrumental/classical type stuff, and I also listen to Eisley and The Strokes. I don't find it odd that they're playing with Taking Back Sunday. I think its nice that they're playing for an audience that is possibly into another genre, then people can maybe just try to apprehiate and respect their music. hmm. lolz well thats just what I think. |

Anyways.. we got off topic. _________________

But like I said,I listen to all types of music as well (except country Bleh!) If eisley headlined a show with a real hardcore/screamo/metal band in support most of the crowd would act just as the TBS fans did in the opening post of this thread. For me personally if I go to a show by an energetic band I want to jump around and whatever and if I go to a more laid back show I want to relax and watch the music. The two simply don't mix well at live shows imho _________________
