i have an 88 key suitcase. i've never heard the term "ping pong" tremelo. i'm guessing you mean it does it in stereo? i need some work done to mine. i had it for a month or so and it worked pretty good, but now it has to warm up before you can play it. the high and low end keys don't work either. i'm wondering how much it would cost to get it into good shape? in a studio situation, i wonder how it's recorded? do you simply mic up one of the left and one of the right speakers? _________________ I am Torgo. There are stereo outs or you could mic it in stereo. And yes, the tremolo works in stereo. They started adding the tremolo effect to the preamps in the 1977 models and in 1978 the Mark I's look like Mark I's but are mechanically identical to the Mark II's as far as the smoother action, just no flat top. _________________ "It's the new golden fact." |

That's a beautiful looking Rhodes. This is probably completely off subject but I'm planning on gettting a Yamaha Yc-45 combo organ, it sounds fantastic, just listen to any MOS album. It has 19 bass keys (the black ones) Photo: _________________ I'll be the platform shoes and undo what heredity's done to you: You won't have to strain to look into my eyes. |

Yeah, it was a custom refurb job, I believe, done by the guy in the picture on page 1 of this thread--Bill Daughtery. As for the differences between the Mark I and Mark II, the main one is that the Mark II has a flat top to accomodate other keyboards being stacked on top of it, whereas the Mark I had a rounded top. The insides are supposedly adjusted a bit differently, too, to make for easier action and whatnot... |

Yeah, those things are crazy heavy. I bet that with shipping it'll end up at $600 minimum. It doesn't seem like a very good idea, considering the fact that it'd more than likely have to be tuned and adjusted after being shipped... The best thing to do would probably be to look around for one locally, thus saving yourself the shipping costs and pain of getting something you don't expect. |
