I saw Taking Back Sunday tonight... They opened their set with Adam doing three Acoustic songs, all on a guitar with a nice big Eisley logo on it. Have y'alls noticed this before? If so you can delete this post or something... but I couldn't find anything else about this when I searched. I can upload pics if you want...

nathan.

You know what he means.

But no, I haven't seen it. Because the last time I saw TBS was in 2003. I don't think they knew Eisley then, did they?

I last saw them when they were in the UK with Eisley back in May or whatever, in Newcastle and Glasgow. At the end Adam did a couple of Acoustic songs as an encore but the guitar didn't have the logo on then... it was pretty interesting to see though, because last time Adam seemed really nervous playing on his own and wasn't really that good... but then last night their guitarist/backing vocalist had to leave the tour because of family problems so adam did some acoustic songs and then they played the rest of the gig with different members of the other bands filling in for the guitarist, like the brought out the drummer and lead singer (ahem... "singer") Smile of Underoath to sing, and guys from Saosin and Anti-Flag to play guitar. Speaking of Anti-Flag, has anyone heard them? They're the worst piece of famous crap I've heard in my life. I'm quite certain they have next to no songwriting ability.

Anyway...

nathan.

ummm have you ever tried to write music that is politically fueled...They obviously have some sort of songwriting talent or they wouldn't even be signed??? Plus you're saying they are famous...not quite... Rolling Eyes

they're more famous than I am... Smile and the motivation for a song shouldn't ever be a reason for the writing to be crap. I don't see why terrible writing is more excusable for a politcally-fuelled song in comparison with a love song or relgion-influenced one. Plus, I was more thinking of the music, not the lyrics anyway... power chords. Nothing but power chords. Two guitars, playing the same thing. The most uninteresting drums umm... ever. A bass player who does the same jump 50 times in one gig, the jump that was annoying the first time he did it. and if bands had to have songwriting talent to get signed, the world would be a happier place Smile

rant over. Smile

ummm pictures. Okay. I shall check they came out okay, then post.

Aargh iPhoto is silly. I cropped one of the pictures, and it deleted the original. Anyway, here is a photo of Adam (sorry it's blurry, i had to zoom in and the digital camera is 4 years old):

and this is a better photo of it, cropped, and then i adjusted some stuff to bring it out more...

Hooray! Feel free not to believe me, because the pictures are about as convincing as those of the Loch Ness Monster...

First off your argument is flawed...You said you were arguing about their music...but then you go off about the bass player's stage presence...sheesh....chill...
