I wouldn't mind if it was left off.... sure T.E. was a "minor hit" (got played a lot on mtv2/fuse (a little less)/the n), but it was no Creep or Yellow. I think (hope) they'll toss it (for good). I almost saw it every morning when I woke up and got ready for school. It was a great couple weeks and even 3 is a lot for any small band. Back to Telescope Eyes vs. Marvelous Things...Singing "please don't make me cry" over and over kind of kills any dude cred I got...then again...most the lyrics in Marvelous Things do the same...then again so does being a fan of Eisley...oh well. Marvelous Things still wins. |

I got made fun of by little kids (freshmen) and girls for liking Eisley. _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. But not really. If I were going to punch anyone, it would have been the girl. But I don't hit girls, no matter how manly they are/act. _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. Even though this arguement has been had about 50 times and this thread has nothing to do with Telescope Eyes......... Honestly, when I first heard all of the songs, TE was one of my lesser favorites. Then it went back and forth. Now, I think all versions of that song, even the last "radio" version are incredible. The concept, going back and forth from the teaser/teasee.....I don't know, old and played out or not, I like hearing that song. |

Marvelous Things is not better than Telescope Eyes. Marvelous Things isn't even about anything. Neither of them is my favorite song but I don't know what people have against TE. (prepares to get beaten up pretty bad) _________________ ASTER (i'll think of a clever signature someday.) |

Actually, Marvelous Things has meaning, but whatever song is "best" or "sucks" is all opinion anyway. I enjoy both songs, so I'm pretty happy. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Saying a song has meaning is different from saying a song is actually about something. I think "Marvelous Things" is probably about something, but I have no idea what. I have a fairly strong idea of what "Telescope Eyes" is about, after hearing three different versions. But songwise, it just doesn't fulfill my needs the way "Marvelous Things" does. "Telescope Eyes" isn't a very strong song, though it is the most formattable and commercially successful (by virtue of its repeated television appearances). _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |
