hey eisley, and everyone else...
I work at american eagle and I found out about eisley because the song "tree tops" is on the cd they play over.. and over.. and over... and I always found myself singing or humming it so I finally typed in the lyrics to a search engine because I wanted to find out who wrote it, and came across this website... and wow you guys are a really cool band with an awesome original style:o) how did you end up on the cd? did they ask permission or anything? just kind of curious.. hehe

I was also wondering if even though you don't label yourself as a christian band, are you guys christians? I think I found a few references to that on your site.. but anyway, if you are, that's really cool. I also write original music and I'm a christian.. and well, its just cool to know others are in the music business. alright, i'm outta here:o)

oh, and stacy- what kind of korg do you have?

peace,
Liz

hey Liz.

1.hmm... we've been hearing from all over that American Eagle has been
playing Eisley. So much stuff is happening lately with promotions and
publicity and new media. But I can't put my finger right on it. Perhaps
when we were on tour, some media company they did an interview with
made this happen. So, the answer is... i dunno.

2. yes. of course. but no identities with the genre' which
unfortunately is imitative and mostly sucks to high heaven. (sorry. it's my
view.)

Will try to find out about the A.E. deal. Thanks.

i like how American Eagle didn't play the Telescope Eyes "single" from Laughing City.

That's so pseudo-different.

yea, speaking from experience, christian music generally does really suck. i was a CCM (contemporary christian music) major at my school for a while, and learned pretty much that christian music is like the diet coke of the music industry (the good coke... good one, right?). cheap imitations of popular music today fit for a christian crowd. it makes me furious because christian record labels don't even seem to be looking for original music, just music that fits in. some labels even have a "jesus quota"- there has to be a certain number of times you say "Jesus" in each song. or something. I'm in a band right now, and we're all Christians, but there's no way I want to pursue music just in the christian genre. I pretty much wrote in because I wanted to find out if Eisley had similar views, or was drawn away from Christian music for similar reasons?

yes, sixpence is a christian band (a great one too. listen to their newest album, its amazing:o)

i bought a killer denim mini at AE last st patricks day to wear to the bar and it was like on sale and i love it. but i dont shop at AE because most of their stuff looks very very "AE" and i hate when people are like oh my god i have that exact same shirt, pair of trousers... whatev. god ae used to pick horrible music on their sampler cds they gave out a few years back though. like really really bad.

The one time I've been in there, they were playing a song by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. I was thrilled.
