If macs and PCs were hanging on a branch of a cliff and you could only save one, which would it be?
Mac: I must save the mac! I need to look trendy while sipping my 4 dollar starbucks whilst leeching wi-fi!

When I get upgraded, I'll probably have Windows, too. But I doubt I'll really use it much.

You are all crazy.

But Macs are pretty.
And who doesn't want to be trendy? Razz

that's the real reason I won't give Mac the time of day, they're WAY too expensive for my needs. I think if I sat down and really tried to play with a Mac for a while it would be acceptable, but that's too much effort and my PC is loaded and dandy, does more than I even need it to do at half the price of a comparable Mac.

also, iPods suck, i wish someone would build a better MP3 player

yes. i've spent considerable time specing out both macs and pcs and i haven't yet been able to get a decent answer out of my dedicated mac friends on what i'd be paying an extra $1,000 for. there are advantages and disadvantages to each but i'm quite sure macs do not offer me $1,000 worth of advantages.

i do have an ipod that i love but i got an open box ipod and then used the money i saved to get a three year warranty since i KNOW it will break and/or need a new battery.

I pay the extra cash for (in no particular order):

1) Better craftmanship 2) Ease of use 3) User friendliness 4) Stability 5) Visual quality (I've experienced this first hand, it makes a difference for graphic design) 6) Ease of fixing issues that do arise 7) The warm feeling that I'm contributing to a corporation that's at least not as evil as the PC people 8 ) It looks better (this CAN be a minor factor) 9) Aesthetics of the operating system 10) ... I can keep going. This is by no means a defnitive list. There's the untangible "it's just better" factor, too.

Ask and maybe I can say it better in a more informal setting. Laughing

And I know people will try to pick apart my list, but whatever. I use both heavily, and at the end of the day, I'm still happily married to my Mac.

Well, at least you've got enough experience in both platforms to warrant a well-informed opinion.
