Sherri and Stacy sing on the Bright Eyes song "Reinvent the Wheel" which was released today on the EP "Four Winds".

it's a good song, from a good EP. their names are quaintly mis-spelled.

just thought i'd let you know.

i went to my local record store and bought it. it was released today.

it's on iTunes - search Bright Eyes, select albums, and go all the way to the bottom.

WHAT! I've had this for about two weeks now and had no idea it was them. I tried to listen to see if I could hear them because I knew they recorded with bright eyes, but figured the song was going to be on the actual lp....oh well. My ears have failed me...

after listening again...

I don't know what I was on! For sure that's them. I'm deaf. I think.

thus far i've seen no mention of them appearing on the actual LP - we'll see, though, when it arrives.

and mystic - Best Buy should carry it, if that helps.

well, in addition to them, Z. Berg of the Like, Rachel Yamagata, and Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney fame also contribute vocals.
i can barely hear them, if i'm even hearing them at all.

Thanks guys, I found it eventually.

Yeah, good tunes. Good song. I wouldn't have known it was them though. The vocals are so distant and/or distorted that the only part that sounds like them...or female vocals period is a portion of some "ahhhs" in there. Good nonetheless....

all on that song? I thought I could hear Rachael somewhere..don't remember if it was that song and I don't know the other voices well enough to tell for sure (even though I should).

who's that on smoke without fire (edit: I found that it is M. Ward...so nevermind that one)....you might just have to post who's on all the songs...

i miss the good ol' days when it was just maria taylor

well sir, as i open the wonderful booklet that came with the EP i actually purchased... Laughing

four winds - maria taylor, andy lemaster (voices)
reinvent the wheel - janet weiss (she did drums as well), stacy dupree, sherri dupree, z. berg, rachel yamagata, (voices) and m. ward on guitar and harmonica
smoke without fire - m. ward (voice, guitar, barritone)
stray dog freedom - ben kweller (piano, voice)

and the last two songs are just the standard Bright Eyes players, plus a few non-vocal names i don't recognize.

this was just the EP! Oh Conor, what's up your sleeve for the LP!?

I'm surprised. He doesn't sound like death in this song. Laughing
