boyd, also eisley is in a great spot as well being on Little Big Man. In my opinion LBM has the best roster out there. Very alterntive and contemporary. but truely amazing and maybe bands that would be amazing for eisley. a band like the Stereophonics would be GREAT and could have a chance seeing that Marty works w/ Stereophonics and Eisley. i personally think rilo kiley is a good fit, but i wouldnt do it if i was eisley. yes eisley is this small minded, humble band..but really--they shot outta nowhere and toured w/ coldplay and a show(or more) with flaming lips. i would play w/ a medium sized, respected band. bands like -stereophonics -polyphonic spree(although im not sure if the transitional setup would quite work, they have like 20 or more members) -supergrass could be a possibility. they just toured with radiohead. however i dont feel theyre talented enough. i dont think their sound is polished enough. in my opinion they were blessed to tour w/ radiohead and alot of people didnt seem to like them much. the other thing eisley has in favor is their sound is really polishing up. i like the stills too. but not with eisley. sigur ros would be good. but the sound doesnt mix with them and even though personallities arent a huge thing i dont see eisley having fun touring w/ sigur ros. fun is somewhat a factor. heh. sense field would be ok, but again eisley..i wouldnt do it, personally. damien rice. now that would work well. he's a good sieze. he's big without being too big. styles mesh. "beautiful and classy" music. both bands somewhat have that shyness. i think itd fit very well. and could eaisly work, since marty diamond (not jason adelman) books damien. there's really so many options for eisley. i could see a jason mraz thing (i mean if theyd tour w/ dmb, theyd tour w/ jason mraz, seeing how jason mraz is turning into the 21st century DM.) even a sarah mclachlan thing could work. eisley has a good sound. humble hearts and good minds. theyhave amazing people on their side. -marty diamond (best agent in the game in my opinon) -dave holmes (very responsible for coldplays success) -good loving family -god i mean really...skies the limit. -kev |

wow... i saw a couple of suggestions that i didn't expect that really got me excited... Ours Counting Crows Sarah McLachlan Rooney Damien Rice - (i would fall over and die from the greatness level. seriously. i really might die. ) i also think i heard that StarSailor has a new CD coming out... they're from the UK - had one decent-sized song here in the states, but... also, Muse from the UK - i've never seen them play in the states anywhere, but might have a strong enough underground following to help make a tour a success.... Ours... that's another one i might die from. they should have a new CD out around March-ish, i think?? maybe april, so it might be a compatible thing. I saw them at Trees and it was packed so I know they've got a pretty solid following.... http://www.ours2.net _________________ -Levi http://www.leviweaver.com |

One rumor can be dispelled... Cornerstone is off. Too many schedule conflicts... They have to have an open slate, free of one-off gigs to work out a strategic tour. At this point, they don't know where the band will be on those dates.. Just letting the few of you who might have hoped... Still no news on what tours are being worked out; well, except for Rancid... (just kidding) bd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Cornerstone is off. Too many schedule conflicts... "This - this - this is a $%#&!!" - Samir (Office Space) Ah well.. I was quite (pleasantly) surprised to see Viva Voce listed [and surprised I hadn't thought of them, too]. They are fabulous. (You should be able to get their new album from their site, too, for whoever asked that earlier). Unfortunately they don't really "tour" much, it seems. And I just thought of another one (that will not happen), Starflyer 59. They also don't "tour" much, just short little things. Hey, that happens when you're a truck driver. I'm sure Eisley management wouldn't be interested in either bands due to their names not being "big" enough, which sucks. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

rilo kiley, they have a pretyt good fanbase. esp after jenny worked with the postal service and then they got played at every indie danse party across the world. and of course you get high end stars loving them because theyre on saddle creek with bright eyes and stuff. i love the like! my friend from LA told me about them a little over a year ago. they had a song in that film 'thirteen'. i think anyone on saddle creek would be good to tour with eisley. esp death cab for cutie because then i could con my boyfriend into coming with me. also, azure ray is way amasing. and someone suggested the anniversary. what a great idea. also-- denali is pretty good. i <3 them tons. and yay to whoever said the starlight mints. the cardigans are such a good idea... oh, or sixpence none the richer (are they still together?) other bands i think theyd go well with are the von bondies (yay, detroit!), pretty girls make graves, ash, mates of state, the new pornographers, april march, holly golightly, cursive, beulah, the innocence mission, metric, stereo total, the like young, i am spoonbender, all girl summer fun band, enon, pj harvey, and i wish cat power... but shes not an easy person to tour with, im sure. oooh, or mary timony. i like her. _________________ lovesick on a sunny afternoon leave those bees alone! |

Just had to get in vote FOR touring with DMB if that ends up being a possibility. I would also like to try to clear up some issues mentioned in this thread: DMB = Manufactured/Mainstream Pop? Hardly. Seems several people insist on lumping DMB with "mainstream" or "radio-friendly" artists. This couldn't be further form the truth (For example, not one DMB album was in Rolling Stone's recent top 500 albums). I would be curious how some people define mainstream music. Apparently, this definition includes a band who has achieved tremendous success without sacrificing their artistic integrity. Since when did a 5-piece band with such a unique sound become mainstream corporate rock? What station in your town plays songs like Bartender, #41, Dreaming Tree, or Best of What's Around? Anyone who knows anything about DMB can tell you that the band has risen to their current state on their own terms and have held true to their musical roots without becoming stale. A single listen to the entire Before These Crowded Streets album should clear up any doubts about the artistry, integrity, and pure musicianship of this band. (Boyd - If Live IN Central Park and the few singles are your only exposure to the band, give BTCS a listen). I do understand that some people simply don't care for the music. That's fine. However, to lump them in with any generic band you will hear every hour on the hour at any rock station in the country is a bit lazy and close-minded. Ticket prices too high High ticket prices are not exclusive to DMB. Thank ClearChannel and others for this nonsense. Fans too drunk or high/Frat Boys/etc. Again, this scene is not exclusive to DMB. How few shows do you see that you only notice these problems at a DMB show? Even at high-end venues such as NextStage in TX (where Eisley opened for Coldplay on the Dallas stop), there were plenty of people who fit into each of the above categories. Lyrical Content not a fit Go to the lyric database at http://www.nancies.org and if you are capable of being objective, you ill see this isn't true. Anyway, that's my $.03. I think it would be great exposure for Eisley and wish you all the best regardless of what happens. Have fun with the new album. JP ---------- It takes all kinds. [/url] |

Again, this scene is not exclusive to DMB. tell me about it. there was this dude at some show in austin (i think they were called "easily" or something) who was wasted. busted his head open and had to be carried out. i'll never see another "easily" show again, all they have is drunk bloody-headed people there. _________________ hello. |
