Oh, right. You have to scroll up to understand. Sorry. We've only just got the internet in England.

You guys...

Coquette-this and hoe-that. Where will it all end? Someone will get their shoes scuffed. Or worse. Pacify. Before you... something-eye.

I'm sure you're dying to learn about the latest weather developments in the UK. It's been really raining for three weeks. It's like the whole climate is changing or something.

There was a beautiful moment today after the rain when the greyness suddenly became all golden-orange. But this was spoilt by the grumpy lady in the fish and chip shop. I think it's because the last time I was in there I tried to speak Greek to her and said please instead of thank you. She was not impressed.

The asphalt is sparkly with dusk reflections, and it feels like summer has turned upside-down. But it still functions. It still gets the melotonin going.

I gotta tell you I love your posts. You really must post more. Smile

If you encourage me, then you must be prepared for the consequences. You are meddling with powers you cannot possibly comprehend.

Also, I would say, if you sincerely want me to write more, then you could, maybe, consider throwing me a frickin' bone? It's like talking to a very polite wall.

(I wanted that to come across as endearing rather than rude. Thus is the nature of the power revealed.)

Well I meant, maybe you could participate in the other threads. There are lots of people to talk to on here, especially in the 'general' section. Wink

this is officially my favorite thread of the moment.
Although it does read very much like John, the guy from England (yes, THAT John) is talking to himself...and musing quite verbosely about many topics.
Whilst the rest of us are all merely observing and enjoying.

Although if you want...I could wax poetic about the weather in Hawaii. It is rather warmish lately..and not much rain. Although SOME rain...there is always some in Hawaii. But mainly little mid-day drizzles that last a few minutes and are gone. and it feels OH SO summery, that's for sure. But it feels summery here 90% of the year...so the real treat is when it feels even slightly wintery.

...that wasn't very poetic.

Oh. well. I love eisley. and when i first found them I had many similar sentiments. Just... intrigued by a beautiful family of music makers sharing all the nice things from their heads with their friends. Charmed by the notion that a person can really live that way. Inspired to try living out my life in a way that will make me most happily fulfilled.

See. Down in blue Hawaii, one good wax deserves another.

I am pleased to see that Britain is not the only island with weather on its mind. And it is nice to hear another person express the warm fuzziness that Eisley bring.

I did try branching out into other threads yesterday, but I couldn't understand where to begin. In the 60s, there was a British black and white public information film called Threads. You can watch it on youtube. It's spooky-sinister. It's about what would happen in the event of a nuclear war. It's freakily drab in the details, like suburban horror from the late seventies, or early Doctor Who. It all feels unreal. As if... it's just a FILM about something... wait a minute.

I went to see the photo exhibition in Grand Central Station when I visited NY a few weeks ago, and the first text next to a screenshot explained how the whole of NYC seems like a film set because we are so used to seeing it represented in film. If you have had that experience coming from out of state, then imagine what it's like for Europeans! I was literally happy looking at the street signs and being walked into by people in a hurry.

Now it's back to the grind of real life. And strangely a colleague of mine filmed me at work teaching a class of, what's the word, begins with c, ... well. Actually, there's a different word that we use that begins with c, which is "challenging". I felt wrecked after 45 minutes with those bunny rabbits, but then after I watched it on the camcorder, it didn't seem so bad.

Still raining. All frickin day. Kipa hou mai.

You sure do listen (or read) well, ecouter. And that is a beautiful quality without doubt.

This thread was not solely intended to be about the weather. It is true that the particularly odd weather of late deserves particular attention, and that is fine.

Excuse me while I rant...

The idea for Everything Begins was a celebration of anti-melancholy. That tune by Arcade Fire Everything Ends and the show Six Feet Under I found really quite touching in some parts. (And I like Mena Suvari touching some other parts.) But the song, which they played over a montage of Tony Blair's best bits from his premiership on a cheesy political show on the BBC, always gives me a lump in my throat, and makes me stare vacantly into the middle distance. Embrace's song Nature's Law is a bit like that. Uplifting and tragic in equal measure.

Then accident led me this band, and I heard it and felt happy. And there was an instantly-accessible mythology about them. And a vast e-community.

I had visions of banter and transatlantic friendships.

This should really be the first (and last) entry in a thread called Everything Ends.

I'm off to sulk now. And nobody likes a sulk.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is manic depression.
