Hey Peoples,

3 Questions.

1 - Old EP related.

I am joyous that Orange Gold and Green is back, because for the last two months i've been trying to isit it with no success. I'm downloading the mp3's and the question is:

Does anyone know the Official track listing for EP 2? preferably version 3 which had every independent song but pretender. Is it just as the tracks are listed when I open then in iTunes?

2 - Gear Related

Old pictures had Stacy playing the vintage fender rhodes at shows. Which rocks. More recntly, in photos, and the two shows I've attended, she;s played some sort of Yamaha Keyboard, with essentially a Piano sound. Why the switch?

3 - Forum related.

What's the deal with the little "title" below everyones name? is that something you choose? is it based on length of membership? number of posts?

vintage-newbie, protocol droid, sea-post king, etc. etc. etc.

thanks mucho for whoever knows the answer to any of those.

-jk

500 - 999: Golly, Poster
100 - 1499: Lost at Forum
1500 - 1999: Laughing Citizen
2000+: Vintage Newbie

Post count.

I'd assume the EP2 track listing is what the discography page says: http://orangegoldandgreen.net/discography.html

Her Rhodes was a pain to tour with from what I hear. It was heavy and broke easily. They have it with them now, but she's not using it for the mutemath shows. They used it at an instore a week or so ago.

I hope they do use it again for the next headlining tour. somehow. maybe use the Yamaha for the main set and then just bring out the Rhodes for the Encore where they'll play old tracks that were made with the rhodes' sound.

Yeah, the Yamaha is flying solo mainly because they are opening, and don't want to/don't have time to go through all the pain of setting up multiple keyboards and dragging them around to every city. It's much easier to get more extravagant as a headliner, and much more worth the effort. I think the other questions are answered ...

Well, EP2 has the track listing

Telescope Eyes, Over the Mountains We Go, Head Against the Sky, Dream For Me, Blackened Crown

but Mr. Pine was a hidden track on ep2. Also Laughing City was too.

so it turned out to be:

Telescope Eyes, Over the Mountains We Go, Head Against the Sky, Laughing City, Mister Pine, Dream For Me, Blackened Crown.

The rhodes was capable of making a cool rhodes sound. The piano is capable of making a cool rhodes sound, and about 6000 thousand other sounds, full sized, weighted, and infinitely more reliable.

^ oh really? 6000 sounds?
I own that keyboard and it's more like....16-20 sounds..
Maybe I'm just not savvy cause i don't have a Mac to plug into it ...yet.
Back on topic:
It's a Yamaha p-90, btw.

Hyperbole FTW. Only 16-20? That's quite low. I guess they just don't bother to give you all the "gimmick" sounds that mid-range digital keyboards have. I have a Yamaha DGX-505 myself.

Ya, it's not a super duper keyboard, just basic, but very good quality. Smile
I love it.
I'll get a synth for all the sounds.
EDIT:
I looked it up... it's actually 24 sounds.
Of course, each sound can have one of 8 effects, too.
What do you mean by hyperbole, etc?

Yeah, I should have got one more "pianoish". Mine is full sized and semi weighted, but it just don't have the feel of something like the P-90.

I am an analog synthesizer nerd. All about the moogs as well... they are very fun instruments.

I'm sad that my brother's piano went to his house. I liked playing around with it. Sad

i think i've played the exact model Stacy uses, but, i don't know... i just can't stand digital pianos! no matter how piano-like they are, i just can't "connect" with them the way i can a "real" piano! we can't afford a "real" piano, so i'm stuck with nothin', which sucks, because, really, the piano is the only instrument i'm any good at… Crying or Very sad

synths don't do it for me, either… even the "cool", "vintage", "analog", etc, ones…

The Rhodes probably got the crap kicked out of it while touring.
Plus, it constantly needs tuning, the tines break, the legs are hard to stick in quickly, the sustain pedal is always tricky, it wobbles, it's ... unreliable.

But Dear Lord, it makes some beautiful sounds.

hmmk but they still don't use that sound on stage. Just Piano. O well. I understand the justification on the practicality side of things. It makes a lot of sense

I think a real piano, a yamaha digital piano, a rhodes, and a moog (rock on) all have their own place. some more prominent than others Smile

thanks for the discussion guys.
