I'm curious about it because I've never seen it. It's plausible that they just sold it without a cover, but I wouldn't know since I became a fan in late '05 and I've always wondered.

Plus, my parents just surprised me with EP2 for Christmas (I was up in PA visiting childhood friends and I just got back today and they gave it to me). Well, when I finally listened to it, I realized that it had seven tracks, not five like the EP2 cover had listed. So that led me to believe the person who sold them EP2 either gave them a wrip-off or gave them the wrong EP. So I just wanted to see/know if the band sold the Old Works EPs with a certain cover or not. If so, I guess my parents were scammed, which is sad because they didn't know any better and they were just wanting to give me a big surprise.

Thanks for any info given. And sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm kind of topic-placing incompetent.

Well, the track listing for the EP has seven songs.

http://www.orangegoldandgreen.net/discography.html

There isn't any art work for it on OGG.

That's because the collection is not an EP and more just assorted tracks that were not associated with anything else (like EP1 and EP2), and therefor were never actually for sale as the "old works EP." Which I always thought was a name the OGG folks made up, or named off the cuff by Boyd.

Therefore, this "EP" has no cover I've ever seen.

Edit: There was no truly concrete tracklisting for EP2. There probably were seven songs on some of them. The traditional EP2 tracklist comes from the fancy covers Boyd made for some of the copies.

So mine could actually be EP2? If so, phew. Lol. I was worried my parents were jipped. It would be very different if I was the one that was scammed, but them... I was kind of freaking out. Lol. The EP2 I got came with that fancy cover, so seeing that it had only five tracks listed, but then seven songs actually on it made me go "what?"

I guess I'm a little bit calmer now.

Thank you to both of you and your speedy responses. Smile

You're welcome! Smile

If you got the cover, you're probably good. Those CDs were all made in burning parties and so on, so it was probably easy for them to change the track listing at will.

Smile ep2 has 5 tracks on the cover and two hidden tracks, Laughing City and Mr. Pine. It seems to me that the track listing follows the cover except that Laughing City is track 4 and Mr. Pine is track 5.

Didn't the track listing always followed the cover? Maybe they would care about the track order, right?

The track listing didn't always follow the cover? Embarassed

Uhm ... I'm not sure. I wasn't around for any of this. But from 4+ years of observation, I've realized that the EP1 and EP2 track lists varied at least somewhat from what we consider them to be now. I've seen and heard of copies with sometimes dramatically different track lists.

You can still find it sometimes if you keep an eye on ebay.

It was a Boyd creation.

I believe it was given out to people pre-Warner Bros. releases as a sort of "Hey, we're recording new stuff, but here's what we sound like."

The cover was just a generic, Name, Title, Tracklisting affair. No art, so to speak.

Yeah, they got it off of ebay for me! I was totally shocked because I was drooling over it, but I had no idea my parents were watching it as well. I didn't even ask for it 'cause I know it goes for big bucks... But somehow they did a little research--when they gave it to me, they told me they went on orangegoldandgreen.net, which I have in my eisley links folder, to read up a little on it--and bought it.

It was kind of like a "We know this is our last Christmas before you go off to college so... here's this" sort of deal. When I opened it, I freaked! Lol.

And I'll tell them that they're now deemed cool. Lol.

Ahh ... I figured if it was anything, that would be it.
