That would be a great fit actually. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I don't think it's so much them not going over well, so much as those crowds are so hipster/snobby that they don't accept new or different things unless it looks like it'll make them cool. I think they are probably just too whimsical for the scene perhaps? I don't know what's up. |

But they would fit nicely on a bill with mature pop/emo based bands like Mae, or the more melodic indie crossover acts like Death Cab for Cutie or Imogen Heap. Mute Math was a good fit even though their live show is quite different from Eisley's. Coldplay was a good fit too. So is Fair, but Fair should obviously open. I also agree with The Like. Ditto for The Cardigans, but their career in the U.S. has fizzled and I doubt they'll be coming back anytime soon - especially with no new record. A tour with the recently reunited Sixpence None the Richer would work. That would be a great fit actually. _________________ Mike=] |

From what I've seen, Eisley have never toured with an indie-shiek (chic?) band. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Kim did mention once that all the members of a hip band wanted to tour with them except the leader. Does anyone know the name of the band? _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. I expect Snow Patrol could count, and if you define indie-chic that way Mute Math could too. I still want to know what Kit was going for by using that term. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Broken Social Scene, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Animal Collective, et cetera. Basically any kind of music that hipster douchebags like. _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. From what I've seen, Eisley have never toured with an indie-shiek (chic?) band. I wasn't really asserting that they have toured with indie hipster bands, even though they did play Coachella, which tends to attract a lot of that audience. I was just glancing through this thread and saw a lot of names pop up like Sufjan, Feist, The Decemberists, The Shins, Mum, Of Montreal, Spoon, etc. Some of those artists are major label players now, but they still have strong ties to the whole "indie" mystique and draw such an audience. I just don't think these artists would make ideal touring mates for Eisley. Sufjan, Feist, The Shins - maybe. Someone mentioned Rilo Kiley. Given their new direction, I can see Eisley touring with them. |

Between The Trees, Vedera, and Mae would be awesome openers. And Eisley should be one of the headlining bands for the main stage at next year's Projekt Revolution 2009. Yeah I know they toured with Vedera. I went to the San Diego show on May 16. But what I'm trying to say is Vedera is so amazing that Eisley should tour with them again. _________________ SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU! SHUT UP! |

Don't get me wrong. I listen to a few of those bands, but I don't see how Eisley would fit in there. The last thing they need is to go on tour where it's almost certain bottles will be thrown during Marvelous Things or Trolley Wood. |

Deas Vail. One of my favorite bands -- great melodic hooks, soaring tenor vocals (one of the best tenors in the business, IMO), and incredible live performances. And I think they've talked to Eisley about touring before . . . . I'd love to see that be a reality. http://www.myspace.com/deasvail _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |
