As evident by the media circus of the last week, the best way to get some exposure is just that, EXPOSURE. Thats right, get naked. The only other suggestion I have is to start making out with band members onstage, preferably if you are a female and the band members are female. Although, heterosexual band makeout sessions might a refreshing sight. Seriously, the only way to make it is to sell your soul. If you dont, you can still make it, its just much harder. _________________ Hail to the King, baby theufbproject.com |

Band Stuff:: Keep playing and build up your fan base, record companies look at who people are seeing live. Hope/pray that you don't have an off night when a rep comes to see you live (they don't normally tell you until after the show who they are). _________________

hi ash. cheers. How did you hear about eisley? Just a few thoughts on your question. Getting noticed has more to do with being different...being excellent rather than having the right people see you or getting many to see you. If an industry leader sees your live show and walks away without interest, it's of no matter. All you have to worry about is your audience; your fans. They're the ones who'll get you noticed. If you're not impressing them...and the same small crowd is coming to your shows, it might be a good time to change a band member, find a new writer, re-think the instrumentation, the style, the genre', get a new vision - a new vibe...then change your band name to seal the fact that it's something new. In short, if venue owners aren't calling you to play more shows, then fans aren't lining up at the door...and being noticed is mute. The opposite is true as well. I could give you Eisley's complete story, but...that would take too long and be boring for me. Still, if it's of interest, I could pm you some words. Take care. I hope great things happen for your band. boyd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Ashley, Welcome to the board! It's so cool to see more and more people from the UK on here. Anyway, all of what Boyd said, and..... tell me some things: What is the average age of your band members? How often do you get to do shows? What is your vision for your band? Do you have a band name? Do you have a website? Do you have anything recorded? Then, while I am waiting for those answers, I will give you some thoughts. 1. Strive for excellance in your particular talent. Find ways to be better at what you contribute to the band. If it's vocals, find ways to push yourself vocally, or find a coach. If it's instrumentally, push yourself, or find a teacher to help you go further. 2. HIRE A BOOKING PERSON TO BOOK SHOWS FOR YOU. 3. Play as many shows as you can, for what ever you can do it for. Whether it is a paid performance, or you take a small financial hit. EISLEY did tons and tons of shows. Sometimes 2 to 3 per week. Many times, they were not paid, or paid very little. But, each time, more and more people, little by little were exposed to their music, and became fans. They in turn told thier friends about EISLEY, and lo and behold...I'm now talking to someone from England that loves their music! As for money, even now, they do not bring in big bucks for shows, but, their is a unified vision that drives, and motivates them. 4. Get a website, and get something recorded that you can hand out at shows, and put on your site. If you build it....they will come Best of luck! k [/i] |

Hello and welcome from across the big ocean! Everyone else had better advice than I do. The most important thing, in my opinion, is to stay true to yourself, your band mates, and really put yourself into the music you make. When you have that kind of dedication and love for what you do, people will take note of it. Also, just tell friends about the band.. word travels. If you have a website or some MP3's I'm sure people on here would love to listen.. so if you do, post it in the Shameless section! Good luck! _________________ roooooooooooooooar. |
