Question and reply! Both are kinda related. First the question (pretty related to StuartBuck's): Some lyrics are more straightforward than others. The ones that leave room for interpretation: do you purposely leave those open to allow listeners to take what they want from the songs, or is it surprising when you read what fans think some songs mean? Any light on true inspirations? (songs in particular that I remember conjuring up discussions before because of several lines or the whole song include One Day I Slowly Floated Away, Head Against the Sky, Come Clean, etc.) And now the reply! StuartBuck wrote: Actually, I could have a whole interview asking them to shed some light on certain lyrics that I don't quite understand (which is a good thing, mind you -- that's what makes the lyrics more interesting than 99% of other bands). A few examples:
-- "She's made of sulfur in the night" -- she's a demon? -- All the war horses wore rubber bands? -- A wood with trolleys on wheels? -- Headbleeds and nosebleeds? -- This isn't so much a question as a comment: If I was surrounded by that much pollen, I'd be in a sneezing fit like the world has never seen. Good question. Though a lot of their more unique lyrics I think are there to make a picture in your mind or for rhythmic purposes, some of the lyrics (like some of the ones you mentioned) I think are more cryptic meanings for other things. The sulfur in the night one, I just figured it meant she was hidden/can't find her/elusive...but being "in the dark" can also refer to as being lost (emotionally/spiritually)....and they've used sulfur in a really old song in a more frightening way (Sleepy Head I think it was). I think taking out the "love is a false dart" line leaves the song more open to interpretation. Very interesting thoughts... Oh, and the nosebleeds/headbleeds one gets me as well. I get perplexed for about 5 seconds then I keep on enjoying the song. |

StuartBuck wrote: Nowhere Man wrote: And I read somewhere that the "Sandra" was Christie. I think it's crazy like crazy fast, not crazy insane. My first interpretation of the song was like it was about a middle-school kid that goes away for summer break or something and when he comes back he finds that the girl that used to follow him around like a puppy has turned into a stutter-worthy young lady. The "Come Clean" lyrics make no sense to me either. I don't know how you confess all around someone heh, but it's one of my favorites. _________________

After lots of thinking i finally have a question.....a few actually Sherri mentioned at some point maybe putting some artwork up for sale or getting a website up for it. Wondering if she can give an update on that. Also what are the other members hobbies? |

Question 1: I would like to know if they plan to release officially all the unreleased stuff that is out there aka The Baby, Trailvan Hyde(sp?), etc. and/or if they plan to rerecord or finish any of it in other forms for a future album? That is some really great music in my opinion. Question 2: Will any of the band members ever consider releasing solo projects? If so, how soon can we realistically expect one/some? Those are some questions that rack my brain regarding Eisley and their musical endeavors. Question 3: Since Sherri enjoys photography so much, has she ever considered publishing some type of book featuring her photography? Question 4: With the imaginative artwork and characters in their lyrics, have they ever written a song based on a drawing, or have they ever thought of creating a written story based on a character in a song? Not really sure how to word that. Question 5: How many unreleased Eisley songs are there (this can include songs written and not even recorded or played live)? It could be also asked in tandem with, "How prolific are you as songwriters?" _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

thanks. not too long ago i remembered coming up with some questions for an interview and was wondering what happened with it. Sherri must be talking about Nude aka Big Ideas on Meeting People is Easy. i love that original version with organ/rhodes/glock/ed's guitars/etc. _________________ I am Torgo.
