OK I'm a newbie here, but I'm not a newbie to concerts or sound. I'm a sound man myself (both FOH and stage mixes), so I have a ton of compassion, trust me. We just got home from the 9:30 Club show, the 2nd time we've seen Eisley there. I'm a big fan, and the musicianship, vocals, etc. were great. But all we could talk about on the way home was all the reverb on the vocal mix. That had to be the wettest live vocal mix I've heard in a long time. I just don't understand why. The girls have mad vocal skills, but some of the beauty of their voices and harmonies got drowned. Why all the fx?

I won't critique beyond that. There was still sonic pleasure in the show. FOH (Front of House) engineer is a tough gig, and I'd love to be doing it myself for such a talented group of musicians. Sound guys rock!

Sorry about a bit of a rant here. Peace & blessings . . .

Effects on the voices? I haven't seen them on this tour, but generally, that IS how they sound.

But also, we have a few other DC show threads:

So I'm locking this one. It's no big deal, we just have a few already. Smile

Also, welcome to the forum!
