Relax person (Im not sure your sex). Anyway, my suggestion is to smoke a fatty, stick in laughing city or marvelous things, and start watching the wizard of Oz. Ive never done it, so let me know how it goes, it might be awesome. _________________ Hail to the King, baby theufbproject.com |

Think in terms of simple themes. Don't take it too literally. They're like fairy tales — There's some basic thought or moral. Kinda like that, methinks. Give it a try. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

(And it's "rows of mermaid-entwined shrubbery," btw.) Sometimes that's all songs are. But Eisley's imagery has a message behind it, too. Different people get different things from it. It's really up to you as the listener; no one can explain it completely. Try listening to it without expecting anything in particular, and just see what you get out of the song. You might just be surprised. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

you know that religion that Bob Marley was in??? Smoking pot lets you experience the supernatural? That's what the Eisley's belive in...... Thus, they smoke the reefer till they can't stand up, and started writing random lyrics on coloured construction paper.... that's why their lyrics are so amazing......it's that dang grass!!! it's true.....you can't write good music without the weed in your mind....... well, my band needs a good, new song, so if you'll excuse me, i've gotta go make a run to the crackhouse........ |

If Eisley was Rastafarian, Jon's hair would be a lot bushier. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Did you know they found thirteen different kinds of lice on Marley's head after his death? Yeah. That's when I decided that rastafarianism is not the religion for me. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

This reminds me of 1973. You freaks are far out. But it got me thinking about eisley's lyrics. If you look past the imagination, there's plenty of allegory...there's more meaning than fantasy. Again, (as discussed in another thread) as long as song writing conventions and standards are defined by "academies" and "clear channel", we'll all be conditioned to accept dumb-downed, one dim ensional, pop lyrics for the masses. I'm not elevating Eisley's lyrics over anyone elses...I think they're a young and will grow far beyond where they are now; I'm just thinking outloud. These songs are not all rooted in fairy tail and magic like some are suggesting. Here are a few opening verses from various songs for newbies: Congratulations, 'cuz we've made it, all the way home, all the way home... and you know that - 'till the stars fall, I will always love you I will always love you... ------------------------- Did you hear me holler at you to come save me? I'm in danger... My pearls have fallen into mud and you are too late. ------------------------- With light bulbs in our pockets... we light the darkened forest. ------------------------- Night falls... am I dreaming? The fears are toying with my head; and I'm swept away by the wind; And I can't fight them anymore... ------------------------- He was throwing grain into the ground below... With dreary circles of his arm, going slow, very slow; His cap pulled down roun' his ears... to hide the smile and watery tears ------------------------- Sea King, I know things...and without love you won't get far. ------------------------- I left the window up I let your bird go I was the one who helped him escape. Right before he left, he said he wanted happiness I said, "don't look too far"... but that's not really good enough for you ------------------------- Dear, did you know that people love each other just like we do... ------------------------- My point is - I think everyone who keeps saying eisley's lyrics are all about fantacy should read the bulk of their songs to find out whether it's true or not... I say, not. And tonight we're going to hear 3 new songs. I'll report about the content in general - to see if it's all about mermaids and dragons and enchantedness. boyd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
