 Post subject: Do you get embarassed easilyPosted: Tue Feb 10, 2004 8:18 pm 
Something happened at work today that although was really funny,was embarassing as well (read my xanga for the story)...I know I post/chat a lot on here but in reality i'm pretty shy/quiet/reserved and I embarass easily.It's ok,it's who I am but I was wondering how many people out there are like me and how many are the complete opposite shy people unite haha _________________

That pretty much sums up my feelings, too. However, if I'm talking to someone I'm comfortable around in "real life" about something I'm interested in, I'm completely fine, and can get very talkative. It's just strangers and undesirable topics that I'm not very good at...

sometimes i'm shy to the point of being rude. i don't embarrass easy, but i'm shy. _________________ If the end of the world has proper noodles I'll probably be okay with it. |

I just realized that my explanation was more about my introvertedness. As for my embarrassment level, I voted "somewhere in between." Most of the time I don't really care all that much what people think of me, but in certain situations I can get very embarrassed (can't think of any specifics at the moment  )...

i can be shy or just a regular talking person depends who i'm around and such... but sucks though, cause like teddy, my shyness comes off as rudeness to others which it totally isn't... and as for embarassing easily... meh, not really.... and thats such a great story paul... got me laughing for quite a bit...  _________________ .neha. ba-ba-BAM! |

Only when I meet people people who you're expected to get along with but you don't really know - prime examples are relatives you haven't seen for years. Acting has helped my confidence with people but I'm still never really confident with myself. I worry a lot about how people perceive me and thing's that I've posted/ said. When I get embarassed, which is easily, a useful skill I have learned through the ages and numerous times of embarassing situation is to hide the fact I am embarassed. Whether its laughing, holding a straight face, smiling, or doing something to take away any signs of embarassment. _________________

Your story reminds me of the time I was working the window at jack in the box, and this older lady comes up. And starts asking me for my pants. She was like insisting that I give them to her. Then after I was fully red from some comments I made, she was like, "well at least give me a kiss" it was weird for me, and everyone at the store thought it was great. _________________

Lots of people think I'm rude or bitchy because I can be very shy around people I don't know. But once I'm comfortable, I'm CRAZY!!! All the shyness goes right out the window. I also get social anxiety sometimes when I have to meet new people or go somewhere new... which is stressful. _________________ thanks to the works of stephen colbert, the population of elephants has tripled in the past 10 years. |
