There are so many favorites to choose from but at the moment this is what I thought of:

"A face broken upstairs, I fall down
Tumbling I lose my ground
Paint my hair a blackened crown
Lift my head as I cry out
Did you hear me holler at you to come save me I'm in danger?
My pearls have fallen into mud and you were to late
This breath precious to you
knocked from me
Taken so faintly and
I never feel 'till it's too late"

Hear her voice as it's rolling and ringing through me
Soft and sweet
How the notes all bend and reach above the trees, trees"

which song is this from?

Silver Bugs, the most underrated Eisley song ever

it's lesser known as it hasn't been officially released in studio form that i know of, though boyd put out a live version or rehearsal or something - or maybe it was just a bootleg from a concert.

many moons have passed... Wink

i'll have to revisit it now.

Where can I find this? I've never heard it before... and I'm also trying to find a good copy of Lady of the Wood but I don't know where. Thanks Love

i think Lady is probably out there only in live versions.
early with Stacy only and then there is a full band version (right?).

from MKD:

Come on come on lets take a chance now
We could fall in love (we could fall in love)
Come on come on lets take a chance now
We could fall in love (aahaahaahaah)

Thrashing through the fen and dew,
I thought what I wouldn't do for you (what I'd do for you)
Stealing hearts of Marsh King's daughters,
well this is something new

And I just know that we could work out
Even though your royalty and I am not
But there's a chance that you are wrong
And I am right this time and you are out of line

Come on darling run with me, we'll take the bog on foot
we'll be not lost you see, though dark the bog shall be
When we arrive there on our feet you just stay close to me

Yes in the audio section of Strange Yellow Patterns. Number 111 Lady Of The Wood (Deep Ellum - Dallas) is the Stacy live version. Number 115 Lady Of The Wood (Slims - San Fransisco) is the whole band live version. Then in the video section there's number 74 Lady Of The Wood (San Diego). But SYP doesn't have the video for the Deep Ellum version or the Slims version, which I think is better than the San Diego version. I could upload it to SYP maybe?

Then the live audio for Silver Bugs is number 22 in the audio section and the Silver Bugs rehersal is 101. If I remember correctly.

Of course I have a lot. I went with the lines that either gave me the visual image of "beauty" or combined sounded "beautiful" to me...

Pass the evening, bring tomorrow
How could we know that night would bring us into daylight
Combinations all around us
Fill our heads with the love we've been feeling
For time long past

The rain, it tumbled down
Through the cracks in the sky
Which made your hands grow, watch your hands grow
I don't know if it was ever discussed, but right or wrong, I interpret "hands" as flower petals/flowers.

And we still see through their plainshifted laughs
We'll hold the hands of sinners and then we will pass

Still floating soft
I am dreaming and I'm glad I lost
And still with my fingers
I'm drawing circles in the water
In the water
And still, still you're always there

You're part mystery
And partly drawn, drawn to all things breathing

You'll never contemplate that I am near
And help goes unseen
You're the cave admitting who you choose
And I could be there for you

Distant tho I am
Orange, gold, and green
Firing, flaming, colors surround me

All of “If You’re Wondering” (...but I purposely interpret this as more than just a love song)

When the morning came
The bees flew down and
Wrapped themselves around me
And that's when i spoke the word
To have them trace your face for me in pollen

Tripping through the misty streams of light,
so beautiful, I stare in awe

Oh...lying in the sun
Everday feeling all of the magic in life
You might find the wonder.....

post some lyrics you think are beautiful from eisley songs.

it wasn't until last week that i realised just how beautiful these words are, not to mention how amazingly they are sung

All the time, darling now, oh
All the time, now we'll have to make it up
We'll make it up, oh
All the days, darling now, oh
All the days, now we'll have to make them up
We'll make them up somehow

I definitely agree. When I first heard that part of the song, I just sat there in awe of how beautiful it sounded. Definitely one of my favorite parts from any Eisley song EVER.

I can't be the one to finally pull you out again, out again.

You'll never contemplate that I am near
And help goes unseen
You're the cave admitting whom you choose
And I could be there for you.

I'm always wondering where you are
I'm always wondering where you are
Darling shouldn't I
Be the one wondering
After all I'm the one who is gone

There are so many more, but I don't think I should make this post any longer. It feels pretty long.
