Here's what I envision as a video for "Sad": [Musical intro] [Scene: snapshots in sepia tone of 3 or 4 of Sherri in wedding pictures, with the guy's face blacked out] Hardly waiting 'til the bed was warm [scene: quick shot of Sherri sitting forlorn in bed; shot in which guy swings his feet off the bed and saunters away.] He closed his eyes and said "I'm feeling torn". [back to Sherri, this time throwing the covers off in disgust.] How could I be so unendingly forced into this course. [Scene: hands throwing stuff into a suitcase.] Sad [Scene: First chorus here has shots of band playing in a club, mixed with shots of the guy, whose face we never see, striking up a conversation with some girl looking flirtatious.] I feel sad For you so sad You'll be left alone and broken Bleeding from the heart when he doesn't come home Softly sighs my Nightingale [Not sure about the scene here: maybe Sherri walking through the woods.] Another broken promise tips the scale and it goes pale He sings Shifting from side to side [Scene for the next few lines: Sherri and the band are playing while on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Down on the beach we see the guy and the new girl Can't make up his God-given mind [The guy looks back up at the cliff where Sherri and the band are, but his face is blurry.] Why don't you just go She's waiting [At some point, probably during the next chorus but maybe the last chorus, a cool scene would be Sherri and the band playing at a fancy costume party (with masks); we see shots of her and the band, mixed with shots of the guy with a mask on dancing ballroom style with a masked girl. Then we see another masked girl at the side of the room looking around from side to side, but she drops her mask stunned when she sees the guy -- it turns out that she's the second girl and the guy is dancing with a third girl this time.] Sad I feel sad For you so sad You'll be left alone and broken Bleeding from the heart when he doesn't come home Oh honey I am telling you, you'd better think about it Sad I feel sad For you so sad You'll be left alone and broken Bleeding from the heart when he doesn't come home [At the end, we see the new girl sitting on the bed forlorn, and then a cut to Sherri smiling as she walks confidently out into the sunshine with her hand brushing her old wedding pictures onto the floor.] _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |

have they still not told what song the video is for? why keep it a secret? i think The Valley is the best song/recording and deserves a video regardless of any pre-ep, etc. _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

Agreed, but nothing out there sounds like it, cept maybe well a 21 year old single at least to my ear, and I think that's a compliment that I can even make the comparison! _________________ yup, that's my name. I kind of think it may be the Valley or Smarter, I don't know why. I kind of think it would be cool if they did a performance video to maybe accompany some storyboarding or animation of Sherri's artwork. |

so apparently we see the band set up in front of a classroom. pull back to show a bunch of 13 and 14 year old boys sitting at their desks. The Dupree sisters pause at various points while playing their instruments to pull on Albert Einstein masks. At the end, they each pull out extra big brains from the backs of their heads (very CSI, or animated like the Far Side where Billy pulls out the bigger brain while taking his test). As long as at some point during the video they flash (or linger on) a "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" message, I'll consider it a success.. And maybe have a shot that shows the dictionary definition of "apocryphal"

I'm excited! I'm glad they are making a video and hey, we've known "Smarter" was the single for awhile now. I'm going to guess a performance type video with some added breakup angst storyline. I'm looking forward to see what they come up with... |
