Why an EP instead of an LP? Is there anyone out there who knows why this is?

Peace,

the ep is shorter, the eisley kids are lazy and couldnt be bothered to put down 10 or more tracks, so there you have it. j/k

Most recording companys want to put their foot in the water with an artist befor they dive right in there just preparing them for bigger and better things.

Steve Taylor's first record (I want to be a clone) was a 6 song EP. He said they did it that way at first to "test the water", then after the amazing response to the albumn, went on to bigger and better things.

Actually, LP's are generally shorter (standing for Limited Play) and historically EP's were longer (standing for Extended Play). When these terms were originally used, you'd by an LP for 2-3 songs, and EP for 5-6 songs, and somewhere down the line the artist would release a "box set" that was called an album. For quite sometime, the only way to get music was to buy them in the shorter (by todays standards) releases. Back then a 3 minute song was also considered average, today the average song is closer to 5 minutes.

Keep working at it. The best only comes to those who work for it. I believe in you (even if I don't really know you) and think you can do it. Share some of your work with me sometime and I'll share an honest opinion on it.
