Awwwwwe they're so good! You used a real camera, didn't you? Or at least a fancy digital one. Because those are not the product of a regular person with a stinky digital. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

Ha, thanks, everyone. I used a Nikon D1 digital SLR. It's starting to be kind of old technology wise, but holds up to most anything. I set it at 1600 ISO, and shot mostly around 1/40 at f/1.8 or something like that. The white balance was set on the tungsten setting. Maybe I closed the aperture a little, or shot closer to 1/60, because the lighting was so decent. I'll have to look at the exif stuff sometime if y'all want. I also used a really fast 50mm Nikon lens. I love that thing. Anyway, there's my technobabble. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I wish I had more than a crappy digital camera, and a crappy Canon 35mm from the 80's with a stinky lens. :[ _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

Quick shutterspeeds + high ISO, and clearer brighter images than a P&S @ ISO400 ~1/10 - 1/15... blah Anyways... great pics Ant... and thank you! |

Because those are not the product of a regular person with a stinky digital. Jamie is a professional photojournalist. Kind of. TheAntrider wrote: Ha, thanks, everyone.

It makes the focus rolloff look pretty nice, though. Pretty sharp for 1/40, too. Or even 1/60. Tripod? The digital camera I'm using (borrowed it from work) gets this weird colorful, splotchy noise when it's 400 or more ISO. I think it's noise because it's more noticeable in the shadows, and I think it's debayering from the CMOS chip. Was that ever an issue shooting at 1600? _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

Though a tripod might be nice for getting people the heck out of the way. hmm. Noise is a problem at 1600, but it's not too bad. Those are really noisy compared to 200 and such. It's also harder to see at the smaller size at which I post these. I think one or two of those pictures are at 200 ISO because I forgot to change the setting. heh Anyway, I'll try to have my Philadelphia pictures up tonight after work. Hopefully I got a few good ones. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
